The DIGITUS DN-PWR-SST-3624 is a compact 36 W DIN-rail power supply that delivers a regulated 24 V DC at up to 1.5 A from a single 35 mm-wide module on a TH35 rail. Its step-shaped housing is the profile used in modern distribution boards, so it sits flush behind a standard cover plate next to breakers and modular devices. DIGITUS designs it for sensors, IoT gateways and low-voltage electronics in automation, building-automation and security installations.

Input is wide-range: 90–264 V AC or 127–370 V DC, so the same module works on 230 V mains and on a DC bus. The output is trimmable from 21.6–29 V, regulated to ±2%, and protected against short circuit and overload with automatic recovery, plus an overvoltage limit of 30–36 V. The double-insulated Class II design needs no protective earth, and the unit is certified to UL 62368-1 and EN 62368-1 with EN 55032 Class B emissions.

Before you order: The input side is rated overvoltage category OVC II. The module is for installation in a closed distribution board or cabinet by a qualified electrician.

What It Means in Practice

  • Load budget: 1.5 A at 24 V (36 W). Add up the maximum current of your sensors or controller and keep about 20% in reserve.
  • Width on the rail is only 35 mm (2 modules), height 90 mm and depth 58 mm — it fits shallow distribution boards with a standard step profile.
  • Terminal order is printed on the unit: AC/L (1), AC/N (2), +V (3), -V (4). Wiring must be done by a qualified electrician with the supply isolated.
  • Overload is handled in hiccup mode: the output switches off and retries automatically once the fault is gone — no manual reset needed.

What Will Not Work

  • It will not power loads above 1.5 A / 36 W — use a larger unit for motors, PoE switches or heaters.
  • It is not for outdoor or wet locations without a suitable enclosure; DIGITUS specifies indoor use.
  • It is not a plug-in adapter: no mains plug, no barrel jack and no USB output.
  • No status relay, battery backup or redundancy function is published.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does it need an earth connection?
No. The unit is Class II (double insulated), so only L and N are connected on the input side. Follow local wiring regulations for the installation itself.
Can I feed it from a DC supply?
Yes. DIGITUS specifies a DC input range of 127–370 V DC in addition to 90–264 V AC — useful on high-voltage DC buses. It is not suitable for 12 V or 24 V DC sources.
