DIGITUS DS-12850 2-Port DisplayPort KVM Switch

DP 1.2 in · 4K 60HzDP + HDMI 2.0 out2x USB 3.0 frontIR remote

The DIGITUS DS-12850 is a 2-port DisplayPort KVM switch that lets two computers share one 4K monitor, a USB keyboard and mouse, audio and two USB 3.0 ports, at up to 4096 x 2160 at 60 Hz in 4:4:4 colour. Part number DS-12850 takes DisplayPort 1.2 inputs and offers both a DisplayPort and an HDMI 2.0 console output, so it works with DP or HDMI monitors.

Compatibility note: DIGITUS does not state that the DP and HDMI outputs run as two independent screens, so treat the DS-12850 as a single-monitor switch with a choice of output. Keyboard and mouse go into the rear USB 2.0 ports; the front USB 3.0 ports are for other devices. Hotkeys are not published; switching is by button or IR remote.

Key Features

DisplayPort in, DP or HDMI out
DP 1.2 inputs with HDR and HDCP 2.2 feed either a DP monitor (48-bit colour) or an HDMI 2.0 TV or monitor (36-bit), at 4K60 in 4:4:4.

USB 3.0 for both computers
USB-B 3.0 links to each PC share two front USB-A 3.0 ports, so fast drives and webcams follow the active computer.

Remote switching and mounting
Front button or IR remote with external receiver, metal housing with a wall bracket, and status LEDs.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I connect an HDMI TV to the DIGITUS DS-12850?
Yes. Use the HDMI 2.0 console output; the computers still connect over DisplayPort, and 4K60 with HDR passes through to the TV.
Does the DS-12850 work with USB-C laptops?
Yes, if the USB-C port supports DisplayPort Alt Mode: use a USB-C to DisplayPort cable for video and a USB-C to USB-B 3.0 cable for keyboard, mouse and the USB 3.0 ports.
What is the difference between the DS-12850 and the Club 3D CSV-7210?
Both take DP inputs and provide DP and HDMI outputs with a USB hub. The CSV-7210 uses DP 1.4, adds hotkeys and mouse glide and can extend to two screens via MST; the DS-12850 includes DisplayPort cables.
Singular Expert Insight
The DS-12850 is a strong fit when both computers output DisplayPort but the screen may be a DP monitor today and an HDMI TV or monitor tomorrow. The included DP cables, USB 3.0 hub and IR remote make it a complete package; for hotkeys or dual displays see other units in our KVM switch range.
✓ Buy it if you have DP computers and want 4K60 on either a DP or HDMI screen with cables included.
✕ Skip it if you need keyboard hotkeys or two independent monitors.
→ Also consider the HDMI-input DIGITUS DS-12874, or the Club 3D CSV-7210 with DP 1.4 and MST.
