DIGITUS DS-12860 2-Port Dual-Monitor HDMI KVM Switch

2 computers · 2 monitorsHDMI 1.4b · 4K 30HzAudio switchingCables included

The DIGITUS DS-12860 is a 2-port dual-monitor HDMI KVM switch that lets two computers share two HDMI displays, a USB keyboard and mouse, and speakers, at up to 3840 x 2160 at 30 Hz per screen in 4:4:4 colour. Part number DS-12860 includes the HDMI and KVM cables for both computers and switches by front button or keyboard hotkeys.

Compatibility note: This is an HDMI 1.4b switch, so 4K runs at 30 Hz (1080p at 60 Hz). Each computer needs two HDMI outputs to use both screens. The front USB port is USB 2.0 full-speed, for low-bandwidth devices.

Key Features

Two screens, one switch
Four HDMI inputs (2 x 2) feed two HDMI console outputs, so an extended dual-monitor desktop moves between computers in a single step.

Complete cabling
Two HDMI cables and two combined HDMI/USB/audio KVM cables are in the box, enough for both computers.

Bus powered, platform independent
Runs on USB power with an optional 9 V adapter, supports Windows, macOS and Linux, and passes Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the DIGITUS DS-12860 a good choice for two Full HD monitors?
Yes. At 1920 x 1080 it runs at 60 Hz on both screens, which is the sweet spot for this HDMI 1.4b switch.
Can a laptop with one HDMI port use both monitors on the DS-12860?
Not directly. The laptop needs a second video output, for example a USB-C dock with two HDMI ports; otherwise only one screen switches.
What is the difference between the DS-12860 and the DS-12880?
The DS-12860 switches two computers across two monitors each; the DS-12880 switches four computers on a single monitor. Both are HDMI 1.4b with 4K30 and include cables.
Singular Expert Insight
The DS-12860 suits office desks with two Full HD or 4K30 HDMI monitors shared by two dual-output computers, and cables in the box keep installation cheap. If you work at 4K all day, the DisplayPort-based DIGITUS DS-12862 in our KVM switch range gives the same layout at 60 Hz.
✓ Buy it if two computers with dual HDMI outputs must share two Full HD monitors.
✕ Skip it if you need 4K at 60 Hz or your computers have only one HDMI port.
→ Also consider the DIGITUS DS-12862 for dual DisplayPort 4K60, or the TRENDnet TK-232DV for dual DVI.
