The DIGITUS DN-96894 is a compact fiber optic splice distributor that clips onto a TS35 DIN rail and terminates an incoming fiber cable onto 6 SC simplex or 6 LC duplex adapters. It is built for FTTH, industrial and building networks where fiber has to end inside a control cabinet or distribution board rather than in a 19" rack.
The aluminium housing has an angled front panel, so patch cords leave at an angle and are not crushed by the cabinet door. Inside is a splice cassette that accepts both crimp and heat-shrink splice protectors, with a splice comb for 6 splices (SC) / 12 splices (LC). The cable enters through a U-shaped entry with a closed membrane for cables of 5–14 mm diameter.
Before you order: The distributor is supplied EMPTY: no couplers (adapters), no pigtails and no splice protectors are included. You need 6 × SC simplex or 6 × LC duplex couplers, matching pigtails and protectors for your fiber type.

What It Means in Practice
- Width on the rail is 45 mm, height 177 mm and depth 161 mm — check the cabinet depth and door clearance.
- With LC duplex couplers you get the highest fiber count (12 fibers); with SC simplex couplers 6 fibers.
- Accepts crimp protectors (e.g. DIGITUS DN-CSP-015) and heat-shrink sleeves.
- The angled front reduces bending stress on patch cords in shallow cabinets.
What Will Not Work
- It does not work without couplers and pigtails — budget for them separately.
- Do not order it for SC duplex or LC quad couplers — that is the DN-96893.
- It is not a 19" rack product and will not mount on rack rails.
- No IP rating is published, so use it inside a closed cabinet.
