The DIGITUS DN-FC-9101-APC is a pack of ten LC/APC fast connectors for single-mode 9/125 µm fibre, made to terminate a fibre in the field without a fusion splicer or polishing — for FTTH drops, repairs and short runs where a splice cassette is not practical.
Each connector has a ceramic 1.25 mm ferrule with angled (APC) polish and fits 0.9 mm buffered fibre as well as 2.0 mm and 3.0 mm cable. DIGITUS publishes an insertion loss of ≤0.2 dB and return loss of ≥50 dB.
Before you order: these are APC (angled) single-mode connectors. Use them only on single-mode fibre and only with LC/APC adapters and ports — not with LC/UPC equipment or multimode fibre.

What It Means in Practice
- Termination is mechanical: strip the fibre, cleave it to the right length, insert it and lock the connector — no epoxy, no polishing, no splicer.
- You still need basic fibre tools (stripper and a precision cleaver); they are not included.
- APC polish keeps back-reflection low, which is why it is standard on FTTH, PON and RF-video links.
- At 45 mm long and with a strain-relief boot for 2.0/3.0 mm cable, the finished connector fits standard LC/APC adapters and wall outlets.
What Will Not Work
- Multimode fibre (OM1–OM5) — these are single-mode only.
- LC/UPC (blue) adapters and most standard SFP optics — PC/UPC and APC must never be mated.
- Termination without a fibre cleaver — a bad cleave gives high loss.
- Outdoor exposure without a closure or outlet box.

Fast connectors are ideal for occasional terminations, repairs and FTTH drops where bringing a splicer is not worth it. Check that every adapter on the link is LC/APC; most switch optics on switches with SFP ports are LC/UPC and need a different connector.
✓ Buy it if you terminate single-mode fibre in the field and the equipment or outlet is LC/APC.
✕ Skip it if the fibre is multimode, the ports are LC/UPC, or you terminate large fibre counts (splicing with pigtails is faster then).
→ Also consider pre-terminated single-mode patch cords if the length is known in advance.
