The DIGITUS DN-941091 is a dome-shaped fiber optic splice closure for up to 48 fibres, sealed to IP68 for outdoor use. It is used by installers and operators to splice, distribute and store optical cables entering and leaving at one end of the closure — on poles (aerial), in manholes and ducts, or buried directly.
Inside, the splice trays swing open like the pages of a booklet with room to coil fibre overlength, and the closure accepts both standard and ribbon cables. The housing is engineering plastic, resistant to acid, alkali and salt and to ageing; sealing rings and an air valve keep it tight, and it can be re-opened for maintenance.
Before you order: Cable entries are 4 small round ports of 16 mm. Check the outer diameter and number of your cables (configuration 1:3 or 2:2) before ordering.

- Typical use: joints in FTTH and campus fiber routes, at pole tops, in manholes or along buried ducts.
- Entry/exit is 1:3 or 2:2 — e.g. one feeder in and three drops out.
- Tensile strength ≥ 1000 N; operating range −40 °C to +60 °C.
- A fusion splicer and splice protection are needed for the joints themselves.
What Will Not Work
- Cables thicker than the 16 mm round ports will not seal properly.
- It does not include splice protection sleeves for each fibre or any fiber cable.
- Not a distribution box with patch connectors — it is a sealed splice enclosure.
- Not for indoor rack mounting.

For an outdoor joint the sealing is what fails first, so prepare cable jackets carefully with the supplied abrasive and sealing strip and use one plug per unused port. Indoors, at the end of the route, terminate in a splice box from our rack accessories range.
