DIGITUS Fiber Optic Unibox Wall-Mount Splice and Distribution Box, Medium, up to 48 Fibres, Lockable Steel, IP20, Grey

The DIGITUS DN-96800M-2 Fiber Optic Unibox (medium) is a compact, lockable steel splice and distribution box for wall mounting that takes up to 48 fibres. It is meant for installers who need a tidy hand-over or splice point on a wall — a building entry, a floor distributor, a plant room or a small office without a 19-inch rack.

Cables enter and leave at the top and bottom through foam-rubber strips, there are integrated fixing points for cable ties, and the housing can hold up to four splice cassettes. The box ships empty on the front side: you choose the adapter plate (couplers) and splice cassettes to match your fibre type and connectors.

• Capacity is up to 48 fibres once fitted with the right adapter plate and up to 4 splice cassettes.
• It works for single-mode and multimode alike — the fibre type is decided by the couplers, pigtails and cassettes you fit.
• Lockable door: useful in shared plant rooms or stairwells where the fibre hand-over must not be touched.
• IP20 means indoor use only — for outdoor or damp locations use a sealed closure instead.
• Wall footprint is 280 × 320 mm at 54 mm depth, so it fits in tight spaces next to an ONT or small switch.

• It will not work out of the box — no adapter plate, couplers, pigtails or splice cassettes are included.
• Not for outdoor, wet or dusty locations (IP20).
• Not a 19-inch rack component; it cannot be mounted in a cabinet.
• Adapter plates for the small or large Unibox do not fit the medium model — order the plate made for DN-96800M-2.
