The Digitus AT-AG-8-8-C6S-2 is a pack of two CAT 6 shielded modular couplers — each one an RJ45 socket on both ends, wired 1:1 (8P8C) — for joining two patch cables into one longer link. It is for IT staff and installers who need to extend a cable that turned out too short, or bridge two patch cords without re-terminating.
Each coupler has a shielded design with a tinned bronze shield, phosphor-bronze contacts with nickel and 0.5 µ gold plating, and Digitus rates them for at least 750 mating cycles according to ISO/IEC 11801 and IEC 60603-7-5.
Before you order: The shield only carries through end-to-end when shielded cables with shielded plugs (S/FTP, F/UTP) are used on both sides. With unshielded (U/UTP) cords the coupler still works, but simply as an unshielded joint.
