The DIGITUS AT-AG 8/8 C6S is a shielded Category 6 inline coupler that joins two RJ45 patch cables end to end, so you can extend a cable run or bridge a short gap without re-terminating anything. It suits installers, IT staff and home-office users who need a quick, clean extension of an existing Ethernet connection.
Both sockets are wired 1:1, so pin 1 on one side meets pin 1 on the other and the link behaves like one longer patch cord. The metal body carries the cable shield from one side to the other, which matters when you are joining shielded (S/FTP or F/UTP) cords in an environment with electrical noise.
Before you order: Every coupler adds a connection point to the channel. Keep the total length of cable plus coupler within the 100 m Ethernet limit, and use Cat6 or better cords on both sides if you need Cat6 performance.

What It Means in Practice
- Extend a patch cable that is a little too short to reach a desk, printer, camera or access point, instead of buying and running a new longer cable.
- Join two shielded cords and keep the shield continuous through the metal housing — important near motors, lighting ballasts or power cabling.
- Straight-through 1:1 wiring means it works with standard T568A and T568B cords alike; it does not swap pairs or create a crossover.
- A temporary fix for a damaged cable: cut out nothing, just connect two good lengths together while a permanent run is planned.
What Will Not Work
- It is not a splitter: you cannot connect two devices to one cable through it, and it will not give you a second network port.
- It does not upgrade a link — a Cat5e cord on either side keeps the whole connection at Cat5e level.
- It is not a keystone module and does not snap into a patch panel or wall outlet.
- Not rated for outdoor or wet locations; the published operating range is −10 °C to +60 °C with no IP rating.
