DIGITUS DN-95407-FR — 19" 1U power strip with 7 French sockets and 5 kA surge protection
7 x CEE 7/5 (French)Surge protection 5 kA16 A · 1U · 19"Protected switch
The DIGITUS DN-95407-FR is a 19-inch, 1U rack power strip with seven French-standard CEE 7/5 sockets and a built-in surge protection module (nominal discharge current 5 kA), rated for a 16 A supply. It powers servers, switches and network equipment inside a rack and adds a first layer of protection against mains overvoltage.
It is built on an aluminium profile, has a master switch that cannot be switched off by accident, and its sockets are rotated 45° so angled plugs and adapters sit side by side. It suits racks where the equipment uses hybrid CEE 7/7 or French plugs.
Before you order: These are French CEE 7/5 sockets with a protruding earth pin. Plain German Schuko plugs (CEE 7/4) do not fit. Your devices need hybrid CEE 7/7 or French CEE 7/6 plugs. The strip ends in a CEE 7/7 plug, which needs a Schuko or French outlet or a UPS with such outputs — not a Cyprus BS 1363 wall socket.
What's in the Box
- 1 x DIGITUS DN-95407-FR 19" socket strip with fixed 2 m supply cable (CEE 7/7 earthing-contact plug)
- 2 x 19" mounting brackets
- 1 x safety instructions
- No screws or cage nuts listed by DIGITUS — use the ones supplied with your rack
What It Means in Practice
- Seven outlets in 1U with a surge module in front of them — a sensible upgrade over a plain strip for network gear on a mains line without other protection.
- The surge module is a basic first stage (In 5 kA). Behind a UPS with its own protection it adds little; on a raw mains line it helps.
- The guarded switch turns off all seven sockets at once for maintenance but will not be knocked off by accident.
- The 16 A limit applies to the whole strip — add up the loads you connect.
What Will Not Work
- Standard German Schuko plugs (CEE 7/4, no earth hole) — they will not go into French sockets.
- UK/Cyprus BS 1363 plugs — you need device cords with CEE 7/7 or French plugs.
- Plugging the strip into a Cyprus BS 1363 wall socket — it needs a Schuko/French outlet installed by an electrician, or a UPS with matching outputs.
- Replacement for a UPS — surge protection does not keep equipment running during a power cut.
- IEC C13/C19 server cords — this strip has no IEC outlets.

Frequently Asked Questions
How strong is the surge protection?
DIGITUS publishes a nominal discharge current (In) of 5 kA. It is a basic protection stage, not a substitute for building-level surge protection or a UPS.
Can I use German Schuko plugs?
Only hybrid CEE 7/7 plugs with an earth hole. Pure CEE 7/4 plugs do not fit the French earth pin.
Is 16 A per socket?
No, 16 A is the total for the strip.
Do I need it if I already have a UPS?
A good UPS already filters the mains, so a plain strip such as the DN-95402-1-FR is usually enough behind it.
Singular Expert Insight · Buyer's Guide
Pick a surge-protected strip when the rack is fed straight from the mains; behind a UPS a plain strip does the same job. Check that your equipment cords are CEE 7/7 or French before ordering, since most devices sold in Cyprus come with BS 1363 plugs. More rack power options are in our
rack accessories.
✓ Buy it if your rack runs on a CEE 7/7-compatible outlet without a UPS and your devices have CEE 7/7 or French plugs.
✕ Skip it if your devices use plain Schuko or BS 1363 plugs, or the rack is already behind a UPS.
→ Also consider DIGITUS DN-95402-1-FR (8 x CEE 7/5, no surge module) or DN-95433 (5 x Schuko with surge protection and line filter).
