The DIGITUS DN-95208 is a PoE splitter that turns one PoE Ethernet cable into data plus 5 V USB power. It takes IEEE 802.3af/at PoE (40–57 V DC) from a PoE switch or injector and outputs 5 V at up to 2.5 A on a USB-A socket, while the data continues on RJ45 at 10/100 Mbps. It works up to 100 m from the PoE source, has a green power LED, a 124 mm attached cable and an IP40 housing in fire-retardant plastic that can be wall mounted. In practice it powers a USB-powered device — a small single-board computer, a USB camera, a sensor or a display stick — where there is network but no mains socket.

Compatibility — check before buying:
Output is 5 V USB only — it will not power 12 V or 24 V devices. Data is Fast Ethernet (10/100 Mbps), not Gigabit. It needs an IEEE 802.3af/at PoE source; passive PoE is outside the specification. No USB cable is in the box. For Gigabit or higher power, DIGITUS has other splitters (DN-95205, DN-95211). Tell us the device and we check the power.
