DIGITUS AK-300315-001-S USB-C to USB-A OTG Adapter Cable, 0.15 m

5 Gbps SuperSpeedUSB-C plug to USB-A socket0.15 m
The DIGITUS AK-300315-001-S is a short USB On-The-Go adapter cable, part number AK-300315-001-S, that puts a full-size USB-A socket on the end of a USB-C plug so keyboards, mice, flash drives and card readers can be used on a USB-C laptop, tablet or phone. At 0.15 m it keeps the connected device close to the port instead of dangling from it, and its copper cores with double shielding carry SuperSpeed transfers at up to 5 Gbit/s.
Which way round it goes: the USB-C plug connects to the host (laptop, tablet or phone) and the USB-A socket takes the peripheral. It does not work in reverse, so it will not let you plug a USB-C device into a computer that only has USB-A ports.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will this let me use a USB-A flash drive or mouse on a USB-C laptop?
Yes. The USB-C plug goes into the laptop and the USB-A socket accepts standard USB-A peripherals such as flash drives, mice, keyboards, card readers and external drives. Bus-powered devices draw up to 3 A through the adapter, which covers portable SSDs and 2.5-inch drives on most machines.
How does AK-300315-001-S differ from the DIGITUS AK-300524-000-S adapter?
Both do the same job at the same 5 Gbps and 3 A, but AK-300524-000-S is a rigid one-piece dongle that sits directly in the port, while AK-300315-001-S puts 15 cm of flexible cable between the two ends. The cable version is easier to use when the port is recessed, when the peripheral is bulky, or when a rigid dongle would put strain on the socket.
Singular Expert Insight
This is the version to pick when a rigid USB-A dongle would be awkward: 15 cm of shielded cable takes the leverage off a slim laptop port and lets a chunky USB stick or receiver sit flat on the desk. Specification-wise it matches DIGITUS’ one-piece adapters exactly — 5 Gbps and 3 A — so the choice is purely mechanical. Browse the rest of our USB-C cables and adapters if you need a different length or connector combination.
✓ Buy it if you need to attach full-size USB-A peripherals to a USB-C laptop, tablet or phone and want a little cable slack rather than a rigid dongle.
✕ Skip it if you want the opposite direction (a USB-C device into a USB-A port) or you need more than 5 Gbps.
→ Also consider the DIGITUS AK-300524-000-S one-piece adapter for a pocket-sized option, or a full USB-C hub if you need several ports at once.
