Best For: Fixed POS counter scanning in retail, supermarkets, pharmacies, hospitality, boutique stores, and hotels. The DS9308 is ideal when a hands-free presentation scanner is needed in a compact footprint — no trigger press, no fatigue, maximum throughput.
DS9308 vs. DS2278: The DS9308 is a fixed desktop presentation scanner — it sits on the counter permanently and scans items passed in front of it. The DS2278 is a cordless handheld scanner that can also be placed in a cradle for presentation mode. Choose the DS9308 for a dedicated, high-throughput checkout station; choose the DS2278 for a flexible scanner that can be picked up and carried.
Know Before You Buy: This is a corded USB scanner — no wireless. IP52 protects against light dust and drips. The standard SR range (0–27.9 cm) is optimised for typical retail counter scanning distances. For RS-232 use, a separate external power supply is required.
