DYMO 99017 Suspension File Labels — 12 x 50 mm, 220 per Roll
12 x 50 mm220 labelsWhite paperPermanent adhesiveDirect thermal
DYMO 99017 is made for one job: the plastic tab on a suspension file. At 12 x 50 mm it fits the standard tab insert, so instead of handwriting a card and sliding it in, you print a clean label and stick it on. 220 labels to the roll, permanent adhesive.
Printing is direct thermal: the print head darkens the label stock itself, so there is no ribbon, no ink and no toner to buy. The roll is the only consumable, and it drops into any current DYMO LabelWriter.
Compatibility — check before buying:
DYMO lists this size for the LabelWriter 450, 450 Turbo, 450 Twin Turbo, 450 Duo, 4XL, Wireless, 5XL, 550 and 550 Turbo. On the 5XL, 550 and 550 Turbo DYMO’s compatibility chart adds the footnote that those printers are “only compatible with DYMO Authentic labels manufactured after April 2020”. LabelWriter rolls are their own system — D1, LetraTag, RHINO IND and XTL cartridges do not fit.
Best For
✓Re-labelling a filing cabinet so every tab reads the same way
✓Archive and records rooms where handwritten tabs have become unreadable
✓Practices and offices that add files continuously and want them legible at a glance
Key Features
Sized to the tab, not trimmed to fit
12 x 50 mm matches the standard suspension file tab. No cutting, no overhang, no label curling off the edge of the insert.
220 per roll
Enough for a full drawer set several times over, printed one at a time as files are created rather than in batches.
Permanent adhesive
DYMO specifies a permanent adhesive on this label. It is meant to stay where you put it; do not expect to peel it off cleanly later.
Direct thermal, zero extra consumables
No ribbon, no ink cartridge, no toner. The only thing you reorder is the roll, which keeps the per-label cost predictable.

Singular Expert Insight
One roll of these transforms a filing cabinet that has drifted into a mix of handwriting and old typed cards. Print them as you create files rather than trying to do a whole cabinet in one sitting.
