Edimax EW-7612PIn V2 — N300 Wi-Fi 4 PCIe Adapter

N300 · Wi-Fi 42.4 GHzWPS button2 × 3 dBi antennas

The Edimax EW-7612PIn V2 is an N300 Wi-Fi 4 PCI Express card for desktop PCs with two detachable 3 dBi antennas and a WPS button. It works on the 2.4 GHz band with 802.11n at up to 300 Mbps (40 MHz channel), enough for browsing, e-mail and HD streaming. It has no Bluetooth. In practice it lets a desktop PC join your wireless network where running a cable to the router is not practical, or replaces an older, slower card without changing the motherboard.

Compatibility — check before buying:
2.4 GHz only: it cannot join a network that broadcasts on 5 GHz only. Edimax lists Windows XP to Windows 10 and Linux; Windows 11 is not listed, so ask us before buying for a Windows 11 PC. Edimax lists a low-profile bracket as an accessory for slim cases. Not sure it suits your PC or router? Send us the PC or motherboard model and your router and we check it.

Best For

Frequently Asked Questions

Does it have Bluetooth?
No. The EW-7612PIn V2 is Wi-Fi only. If you also want Bluetooth, ask us for a card that combines both.
Will I get the full 300 Mbps?
No card does in daily use. 300 Mbps is the maximum link rate Edimax quotes; real throughput depends on your router, the distance, walls and other networks nearby. A router of the same Wi-Fi generation gets the most out of it.
Will it fit my PC?
It needs a free PCI Express slot; a PCIe x1 card also works in a longer x4, x8 or x16 slot. Edimax lists a low-profile bracket for slim cases. Send us the PC model and we confirm the fit.
Which operating systems are supported?
Edimax lists Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8, 8.1 and 10, plus Linux. Windows 11 is not listed; ask us before buying for a Windows 11 PC.
Singular Expert Insight
We suggest the EW-7612PIn V2 for older or basic desktops on a 2.4 GHz network, especially where Windows 7 to 10 or Linux support matters. If you are unsure between two models, tell us your router and how far the PC sits from it, and we recommend the one that fits. Every order comes with Singular’s local support in Cyprus. See our wireless PCIe cards or the routers and access points that complete the network.
