The EFB-Elektronik EB485V2 is a compact adapter that turns a DisplayPort output into a DVI socket, so an existing DVI cable and monitor can be used with a newer PC or graphics card. It passes Full HD 1080p and supports HDCP 1.3 and DPCP.

Compatibility note: Passive, one-way adapter (DisplayPort source → DVI display). The DisplayPort output must be dual-mode (DP++). The DVI socket is 24+5 (DVI-I) but only digital DVI-D signals are carried — it will not drive a VGA monitor through a DVI-to-VGA dongle.

Can the EB485V2 drive a 2560×1600 DVI monitor?
No. The adapter is rated for Full HD 1080p and uses a single-link DVI signal. Large 30-inch dual-link DVI monitors need an active dual-link DisplayPort-to-DVI converter.
Does it work with a VGA monitor if I add a DVI-to-VGA adapter?
No. Only digital DVI-D is output, so analogue VGA pins are not active. For a VGA screen use a DisplayPort-to-VGA converter such as the Techly IADAP-DSP-230T.
