EFB-Elektronik 19-Inch Profile Rails 12U — Rear Mounting Level for EFB Wall Cabinets
12USet of 2 railsZinc-plated steelFor EFB wall cabinets
The EFB-Elektronik 691776.12 is a set of two 12U 19-inch profile rails that adds a second, rear 19-inch mounting level to EFB one-part and two-part wall cabinets, for installers who need to support long devices at the back as well as the front.
Most wall cabinets ship with a single pair of front 19-inch rails. That is enough for patch panels and light switches, but a deeper switch, a small server, a UPS or a shelf loaded from the front only is left hanging on two points. Adding a rear rail pair turns the cabinet into a four-point mounting frame, so rails, fixed shelves and rack kits that need front and rear fixing can be used properly.
Before you order: EFB designed these rails for its own 1-part and 2-part wall cabinets (article series 6917xx and 6916xx, VGR and VTS versions). The 12U height must match the height of your cabinet. For wall cabinets from other brands the hole pattern of the side frame may not match — send us the cabinet model and we will check before you order.
What's in the Box
- 2 x 19-inch profile rails, 12U
- Mounting hardware for fixing the rails in the cabinet
What It Means in Practice
- You get a real rear 19-inch plane, so equipment with rear brackets and four-point shelves can be installed instead of hanging from the front only.
- Rails are screw-fixed at defined positions rather than sliding freely, so the rear plane stays square once installed.
- Plan the rail position before installing heavy devices — moving the rear plane later means emptying that section of the cabinet.
What Will Not Work
- Cabinets that are not 12U: the rails are made in fixed heights (EFB also offers 4U to 21U versions), so a 12U set will not fit a 9U or 15U cabinet.
- Floor-standing 42U or 47U server cabinets — this set is designed for EFB wall cabinets.
- Stepless depth adjustment: the fixing is not stepless, so the rear plane sits at the positions provided by the cabinet frame.
- Cage nuts for your devices are not part of the set — they are ordered separately in the M5 or M6 size your equipment uses.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need these rails if my cabinet already has front rails?
Only if you install equipment that needs rear support: long switches, servers, UPS units, rail kits or four-point shelves. Patch panels and short devices work fine on the front rails alone.
Can I use them in a non-EFB wall cabinet?
They are designed for EFB wall cabinets. Other brands use different side frames and hole positions, so compatibility is not guaranteed — ask us with the cabinet model.
What height should I order?
The rail height must equal the cabinet height in rack units. This set is 12U; EFB also makes the same rails in 4U, 6U, 9U, 15U, 18U and 21U.
Singular Expert Insight · Buyer's Guide
Wall cabinets are usually bought for patch panels and a switch, then later asked to hold a UPS or a small server. A rear rail pair is the cleanest way to support that extra depth without improvising brackets. Pair it with shelves or rail kits from our
19-inch rack accessories range.
✓ Buy it if you own a 12U EFB one-part or two-part wall cabinet and need to mount longer equipment on four points.
✕ Skip it if your cabinet is from another brand or a different height, or you only mount patch panels and short switches on the front rails.
→ Also consider a fixed front-mounted shelf if you only need to place a short device, or rail sets in 9U or 15U for other EFB cabinet sizes.
