The EFB-Elektronik K8104GR.2 is a 2 m grey Cat.6 patch cable with RJ45 plugs on both ends and an unshielded U/UTP construction. It is the economical cable for everyday office connections — PC to wall outlet, printer to switch, patch panel to switch — in environments without heavy electrical interference. EFB specifies 250 MHz and rates the cable for 5 Gbit/s; the jacket is halogen-free and low-smoke (LSZH), 5.9 mm thick, with moulded boots that protect the latches. Note that the conductors are CCA (copper-clad aluminium), not solid copper, which keeps the price down but matters for PoE.
Compatibility — check before buying:
Not for PoE: the conductors are copper-clad aluminium (CCA), and EFB lists no PoE class for this cable — for access points, IP cameras or VoIP phones powered over the cable, choose a copper cable such as the EFB K5525 Cat.6A S/FTP series. Unshielded: fine for normal offices; near motors, lifts or power cabling a shielded cable is the safer choice. EFB rates it for 5 Gbit/s, so it is not the cable for 10 Gbit links. Not sure?
