EFB Cat6A S/FTP Patch Cable 0.25 m — Cat.7 Raw Cable, LSZH, Grey
Cat6A · 10GBASE-T500 MHzS/FTP · Cat.7 raw cableLSZH · Grey
The EFB Cat6A S/FTP patch cable (0.25 m, grey) is a fully shielded RJ45-to-RJ45 network cable built on Cat.7 raw cable with a halogen-free LSZH jacket, rated for 500 MHz and 10GBASE-T — made for offices, server rooms and structured-cabling installations that need 10 Gigabit, PoE and low-smoke materials.
Both ends carry shielded RJ45 plugs to IEC 60603-7-51 with gold-plated contacts, a moulded anti-kink sleeve and latch protection, wired 1:1 to TIA/EIA-568B. The double shielding — an overall braid plus foil around each pair (S/FTP) — keeps crosstalk and outside interference low in dense bundles and next to power cabling, and the length is printed on the boot so the cable can be identified in a crowded rack.
What's in the Box
- 1 × EFB Cat6A S/FTP LSZH patch cable, 0.25 m, grey, with shielded RJ45 plugs fitted at both ends
- Nothing else — no couplers, labels or tools; the cable is ready to plug in
What It Means in Practice
- At 0.25 m it is a short jumper between a patch panel and a switch in the same rack, with no loops of spare cable to manage
- Runs 10GBASE-T (10 Gbit/s) over the full 0.25 m — well inside the 100 m channel limit of Cat6A
- Also works at 1 Gbit/s, 2.5G/5G (NBASE-T) and 100 Mbit/s — the speed is set by the switch and network card, not by the cable
- PoE to IEEE 802.3af, 802.3at and 4-pair PoE++ (802.3bt) per EFB
- LSZH jacket: in a fire it gives off little smoke and no halogen acid gases — the usual requirement for offices, schools, hospitals and public buildings
- The grey colour lets you mark a function (uplinks, VoIP, PoE cameras, management) and keep the patching readable
What Will Not Work
- It is not a Cat7 system end-to-end: with Cat6A RJ45 plugs the link is rated Cat6A / 500 MHz — the Cat.7 raw cable does not raise it to 600 or 1000 MHz
- It does not fit GG45 or TERA sockets (Cat7 connector systems)
- Not for 25GBASE-T or 40GBASE-T — that needs Cat.8 cabling
- Not an outdoor or direct-burial cable — indoor LSZH jacket, operating range −20 to +60 °C
- A finished patch cable with fixed length — it cannot be punched down onto keystones or patch panels; permanent links need installation cable

Frequently Asked Questions
Is this a Cat7 cable?
The raw cable is Cat.7 grade, but with Cat6A RJ45 plugs the assembly is rated Cat6A (500 MHz). That is the right choice for RJ45 switches, patch panels and network cards — true Cat7 performance needs GG45/TERA connectors, which almost no active equipment uses.
Do I need a shielded patch panel or switch?
No — it works in any RJ45 port. To get the full benefit of the shield, the patch panel and devices should be shielded and earthed; in an unshielded installation the cable still works normally.
Will it power PoE cameras and access points?
Yes. EFB specifies it for 802.3af, 802.3at and 4-pair 802.3bt, so it covers phones, cameras, access points and higher-power PoE++ devices — the power budget comes from the switch or injector.
Singular Expert Insight · Buyer's Guide
Cat6A S/FTP with an LSZH jacket is the safe default for new 10 Gigabit patching: it handles PoE heat and dense bundles better than thin U/UTP cords and meets the low-smoke requirement of most commercial buildings. The Cat.7 raw cable adds shielding margin, not speed. Other lengths and colours are in our
network cables range.
✓ Buy it if you patch 10 Gigabit or PoE equipment in an office, rack or public building and want shielded, low-smoke cable.
✕ Skip it if you only need a Gigabit cord for a desk at home (a simple Cat6 cable is enough) or you need 25G/40G links (Cat.8).
→ Also consider EFB Cat.8.1 patch cords for 25G/40GBASE-T in the data centre over short distances; installation cable with keystones for permanent links.
