Elo Edge Connect Webcam — 8 MP Camera for Elo Displays
8 MP, 3264 x 2448Autofocus 9.7 to 33 cm74° diagonalEdge Connect mount
The Edge Connect Webcam is Elo’s camera module for its own touchscreens and I-Series computers. It bolts to the display through the Edge Connect mount rather than clipping to it, carries an 8 megapixel sensor at up to 3264 x 2448, and autofocuses at close range — 9.7 to 33 cm — which tells you what it is for: face capture at a kiosk, not a meeting across a room.
Compatibility — check before buying:
Read the focus range before anything else: 9.7 cm to 33 cm. This camera is designed to see a face at arm’s length in front of a self-service screen, and it will not focus on someone sitting a normal desk distance away. It is not a general-purpose desk webcam. Second, it is designed to mount to Elo displays and I-Series systems through the Edge Connect attachment — two screws and two Mylar covers are in the box, and there is no universal clip and no tripod thread. Third, the connector is Micro USB at USB 2.0, not USB-C, and Elo publishes no cable length. Frame rates are modest and worth knowing: 1080p runs at 25 fps in MJPEG and only 5 fps uncompressed, 720p at 30 fps in MJPEG, and Elo publishes no frame rate at the full 8 megapixels. There is one mono microphone, no privacy shutter and no platform certification.
Best For
✓ Elo touchscreen kiosks and self-service terminals
✓ Elo I-Series all-in-one systems that need a camera
✓ Face capture at arm’s length in front of a screen
✓ Retail, hospitality and check-in points
✓ Integrators fitting a camera into an existing Elo estate
Key Features
Built for Elo hardware
It attaches through the Edge Connect mount with two screws and two Mylar covers supplied, so it becomes part of the display rather than an accessory perched on it.
8 megapixels for capture
Up to 3264 x 2448 through a five-element lens with an infrared filter, which is what makes a face or a document readable at close range.
Close-range autofocus
A focus range of 9.7 to 33 cm with a 10 cm focus distance — the working distance of someone standing at a kiosk.
Broad operating-system support
Windows 7, 8.1 and 10; macOS X 10.4.8 and above; Android 7.1 and above; and Linux with UVC. UVC 1.5 and UAC 1.0 compliant, bus powered at 5 V.

Singular Expert Insight
This is a component, not a consumer product, and it should be judged that way. Inside an Elo kiosk or I-Series estate it is the correct part: it bolts on, it focuses at the distance a person actually stands, and it supports Android and Linux as well as Windows, which matters in that world. Outside that estate it is the wrong purchase almost every time — the close focus range and the Edge Connect mount are not compromises, they are the design. If what you want is a camera for a desk, a standard clip-on webcam will serve you far better for the same money.
Buyer’s Guide
Buy it if
You are fitting a camera to an Elo display or I-Series system for face capture at kiosk distance.
Skip it if
Skip it if the camera is for a desk, if you need it on non-Elo hardware, or if you need a privacy shutter and stereo microphones.
Also consider
A standard clip-on webcam for desk video calls, or the Elo Edge Connect 4K Conference Camera if the job is a meeting room.
