EPOS IMPACT SC 75 USB MS — Stereo Headset with a Detachable USB Cable

Stereo on-ear, 130 gDetachable USB-A cableFoam and leatherette padsEPOS ActiveGard

The EPOS IMPACT SC 75 USB MS, article 1000635, is a double-sided corded office headset built around a useful idea: the headset itself ends in a 3.5 mm jack, and the USB cable with the call-control unit detaches. Both ears are covered for concentration, both foam and leatherette ear pads are supplied so you can pick the feel, and EPOS ActiveGard limits sudden level spikes. EPOS publishes this today as IMPACT SC 75 USB MS; the older Sennheiser-era name was SC 75 USB MS, article 507086.

Compatibility — check before buying:
The USB cable is USB-A. EPOS sells a USB-A to USB-C adapter cable separately as article 1000832 if your machines have no USB-A port left — it is not in the box. Be careful with the article number: the single-sided twin is IMPACT SC 45 USB MS, article 1000634, one digit away with a nearly identical EAN and the same name apart from the number. 45 is mono at 102 g, 75 is stereo at 130 g. One more point worth knowing: the Microsoft Teams certification EPOS publishes for this part requires EPOS Connect installed. The Sennheiser-era version of this product was sold as certified for Skype for Business; what EPOS certifies today is Teams.

Best For

✓ Noisy offices where both ears should be covered
✓ Desks that want to swap between USB and a 3.5 mm device
✓ Staff who prefer to choose their own ear-pad feel
✓ Microsoft Teams deployments running EPOS Connect
✓ Machines with a free USB-A port
✓ Hot-desking, thanks to the carry pouch

Key Features

Detachable cable, 3.5 mm headset
The headset terminates in a 3.5 mm jack and the USB call-control cable unplugs from it. A damaged cable is a spare part rather than a new headset, and the headset side can serve a 3.5 mm device on its own.

Both ear-pad types in the box
EPOS supplies acoustic foam ear pads and leatherette covers together, so each user picks breathability or isolation without a separate order.

ActiveGard with a switchable daily limiter
Caps sound at 113 dB over USB and 118 dB over the 3.5 mm jack, and adds a switchable EU Noise at Work limiter holding the daily average to 85 dB under Directive 2003/10/EC.

Call control on the cable
An in-line unit with answer and end, volume up and down, mute and redial of the last outgoing call — physical buttons instead of hunting for the softphone window.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between the SC 75 and the SC 45?
Ear count, and the article numbers are one apart. SC 75 USB MS (1000635) is double-sided at 130 g. SC 45 USB MS (1000634) is single-sided at 102 g. Everything else is the same. The EANs differ by a single digit too, so order by article number rather than by description.
Can I use it on a USB-C laptop?
Not directly — the supplied cable is USB-A. EPOS sells the adapter cable as article 1000832, and we can supply it with the headset. Alternatively, because the headset side ends in a plain 3.5 mm jack, it will work as an analogue headset on a device with a 3.5 mm headset port, though you then lose the in-line call controls.
Which ear pads should we use?
Both are in the box, so try them. The acoustic foam pads breathe better and suit long shifts in a warm room; the leatherette covers seal more and block more of the office. On a shared desk many teams keep foam on the headset and leatherette in the drawer.
Do I need to install anything for Microsoft Teams?
Yes — EPOS publishes the Teams certification for this part with the condition that EPOS Connect is installed. Without it the headset still works as a normal USB audio device, but the certified Teams integration is not active. EPOS Connect is a free download.
Singular Expert Insight
The detachable cable is the reason to choose this one. Cables are what fail on corded headsets, and here the cable is a part you replace rather than a headset you throw away — and because the headset ends in a plain 3.5 mm jack, the same unit can serve an analogue device when it has to. Supplying both foam and leatherette pads is the other quietly sensible decision, because ear-pad preference is personal and nobody wants to raise a purchase order for it. Two things to check before ordering: the cable is USB-A, so ask us for the 1000832 adapter if your fleet has moved to USB-C, and do not mistype the article — 1000634 is the mono SC 45, one digit away. Our office and VoIP headsets range has the wireless alternatives if some desks need to move.

Buyer’s Guide

Buy it if

You want a stereo wired headset where the cable is replaceable, the machines have USB-A, and you would rather let each user pick foam or leatherette ear pads than standardise on one.

Skip it if

Staff need one ear open for the room — that is the SC 45, article 1000634 — or your machines are USB-C only and you do not want to add an adapter cable to every desk.

Also consider

The single-sided IMPACT SC 45 USB MS (1000634) for reception and contact-centre roles, and the EPOS USB-A to USB-C adapter cable, article 1000832, for newer laptops.
