The EPOS IMPACT 460T, article number 1001253, is a corded USB-C office headset from EPOS’s current IMPACT 400 line. It is double-sided, covering both ears so you can concentrate in a noisy office. Two microphones on the boom arm handle the voice path, the boom itself mutes the call when you lift it, and a busylight on the outside tells colleagues you are on a call. The T in the name is the Microsoft Teams certification, and it puts a dedicated Teams button on the ear cup.

Compatibility — check before buying:
All controls are on the ear cup — there is no in-line control pod on this series. Volume, mute and answer/end sit on the cup itself, along with the dedicated Microsoft Teams button. If your office does not run Teams, the plain IMPACT 460 is the cheaper equivalent. The headset terminates in USB-C and the supplied USB-A adapter is the only route to an older machine, so keep it with the headset. There is no 3.5 mm option anywhere in this series: it will not connect to a desk phone, an analogue headset port or a device without a USB host.

Raise the boom arm during a call and the microphone mutes; lower it and you are back. A prominent LED on the microphone shows the mute state at a glance, so nobody spends thirty seconds talking to a muted line.

EPOS publishes two analog microphones running 100 Hz to 8 kHz, with advanced noise filtering that transmits your voice rather than the room. This is transmit-side filtering for the people listening to you.

A busylight that signals when you are on a call and is completely invisible when it is not active — no permanently glowing plastic on the side of your head.
 
EPOS ActiveGard hearing protection

It is a published manufacturer term that happens to be two years, not the statutory EU consumer period. Frequently Asked Questions

Where are the buttons on this headset?
On the ear cup. The IMPACT 400 Series has no in-line control pod — volume, mute and call answer and end are all on the cup, together with the dedicated Microsoft Teams button. The boom arm adds a second way to mute: lift it and the microphone cuts, lower it and you are live again.
Does it cancel office noise for me?
No. EPOS publishes advanced noise filtering on the microphone path, which keeps your office out of the call for the person listening, and soft noise-dampening ear pads, which are passive isolation. There is no active noise cancellation on any headset in the IMPACT 400 Series. If a listing calls it noise cancelling, that is the microphone being described.
What is the difference between the 430, 460, 430T and 460T?
Only two things change across the whole series: how many ears are covered, and Microsoft Teams. 430 is single-sided and 460 is double-sided. The T suffix adds Teams certification and a Teams button on the ear cup. Cable, microphones, frequency response, ActiveGard, busylight and box contents are identical on all four. This one is the 460T.
Will it work with my desk phone?
No. This is a USB-only headset — USB-C with a USB-A adapter in the box, and no 3.5 mm jack at all. It connects to a computer or another USB host and nothing else. If you need a headset for a desk phone, tell us the phone model and we will point you at the right one.

The IMPACT 400 is EPOS’s current mainstream office headset, and the two features that earn their place are the lift-to-mute boom and the busylight — the ones people actually use twenty times a day. What matters at the order stage is that the series has only two axes: 430 is one ear, 460 is two, and the T adds the Teams button on the cup. Everything else is identical across all four article numbers, which makes the wrong one very easy to buy and impossible to spot in a photo. You are looking at the Teams build.
