The EPOS IMPACT 860 is a double-sided wired office headset that plugs into a USB-C port and stays powered by it, so there is no battery to watch. Three digital MEMS microphones form an adaptive beamforming array that follows your voice as you move, and EPOS publishes Super Wideband audio with a 20 Hz to 20 kHz speaker response, which is unusual on a corded headset at this level. Part number 1001176 is the standard build, optimised for unified communications but not carrying Microsoft Teams certification.
Compatibility — check before buying:
Two things decide whether this is the right article number. First, this model is not Microsoft Teams certified; if your organisation wants the Teams key and certified call control, 1001179 is the part to order. Second, and more important: 860 has no active noise cancellation. EPOS publishes ANC only on the 860 ANC (1001174) and 860T ANC (1001177), and the number 860 on its own does not imply it. The USB-C cable is fixed to the headset at 1.85 m and a USB-C to USB-A adapter is in the box, so both modern laptops and older desktops are covered. Tell us your platform and whether open-plan noise is a problem and we will point you at the right one of the four.
