The Epson WorkForce DS-410 is an A4 desktop document scanner with a 50-sheet automatic document feeder that scans both sides at 26 pages (52 images) per minute, aimed at small and medium offices digitising invoices, HR files and correspondence at up to 3,000 pages a day. It suits offices that collect paperwork through the week and scan it in batches rather than page by page.

It connects to a computer over USB 2.0, measures 297 x 152 x 154 mm and weighs 2.5 kg. Double-feed detection and paper protection stop the scan when pages stick or crumple, and Epson Document Capture Pro adds barcode recognition and zonal OCR for automatic file naming and sorting. Epson Scan 2 handles image clean-up such as colour dropout, blank-page skip and de-skew, while Epson Device Admin helps IT staff manage settings. Drivers for TWAIN, WIA, ISIS, ICA and SANE connect it to most document management and accounting software already in use in Cyprus offices. Epson lists Mac OS up to 10.12 for the bundled software on this older model, so check with us before pairing it with a recent Mac; Windows 7 to 11 are supported.

Before you order: USB only: the DS-410 must be connected to a Windows or Mac computer and has no network or Wi-Fi. If several people need to scan, a network model such as the HP ScanJet Pro N4000 snw1 fits better. Allow some space behind and in front of the scanner for the input and output trays.

  • A 50-sheet feeder means a typical batch of invoices loads in one go instead of three or four rounds.
  • 52 images per minute duplex captures a 50-page double-sided stack in about two minutes.
  • Double-feed detection halts the scan if two sheets pass together, so pages are not missing from the archive.
  • Barcode recognition and zonal OCR in Document Capture Pro can split a batch into separate files and name them automatically.

What Will Not Work

  • No network or Wi-Fi: scanning always goes through the connected computer.
  • No flatbed: books, bound reports and very fragile originals cannot be scanned.
  • Paper above 209 g/m² is outside the feeder's auto-loading range, so heavy card stock may not feed.
  • A4 width maximum; A3 needs folding and stitching in software.
  • Not a production scanner; the rated duty cycle is 3,000 pages a day.

Document Capture Pro
Create one-touch jobs that scan, OCR, split by barcode or blank page and save to folders, email, FTP or SharePoint through the connected PC. Jobs can be started from the scanner button, so staff do not need to open the software each time. Rollers last longer when paper is fanned before loading.
