Equip E2000/APC to LC/APC OS2 Single-mode Duplex Fibre Cable, 3 m
OS2 9/125 µmE2000/APC–LC/APCDuplex3 m · LSZH
The Equip 255103 is a 3 m single-mode duplex fibre cable with E2000/APC and LC/APC connectors on OS2 9/125 µm fibre, made for APC-terminated links in telecom rooms, FTTH and PON installations, data centres and carrier racks.
Both ends use APC (angled) polish, the green-coded connector style used wherever low back-reflection matters, such as GPON/XGS-PON, RF-over-fibre and carrier hand-off panels. The E2000 end has a built-in spring-loaded shutter that protects the ferrule from dust and laser light, which is why it is common on carrier and telecom panels.
Before you order: APC only: E2000/APC and LC/APC here are angled (APC) connectors. They must mate with APC adapters, panels and equipment — plugging an APC connector into a UPC (blue) port causes high loss and can damage the ferrule end-faces.
What's in the Box
- 1 × Equip E2000/APC–LC/APC OS2 single-mode duplex fibre cable, 3 m
What It Means in Practice
- Duplex means two fibres: one carries transmit, the other receive, so it serves a normal two-fibre single-mode link.
- At 3 m it covers links inside one rack or between neighbouring racks.
- Single-mode OS2 fibre carries 1310/1550 nm signals over kilometres, so the cable length is never the limit — the optics and the connectors at each end are.
- Keep dust caps on until the moment you plug in; APC end-faces should be inspected or cleaned before mating, especially on PON and CATV systems.
What Will Not Work
- UPC (blue) single-mode ports or adapters — the angled APC end-face does not mate correctly with a flat UPC one.
- Multimode equipment (OM3/OM4, 850 nm SX/SR optics) — this is single-mode fibre.
- Ports that are not E2000/APC or LC/APC — e.g. SC/APC needs a different cable.
- Outdoor or direct-burial installation — the LSZH jacket is intended for indoor use.
Key Features
OS2 single-mode
9/125 µm fibre for long-reach 1310/1550 nm links, from in-building runs to carrier connections.
APC polish
Angled end-faces cut back-reflection, the requirement for PON, FTTH and RF video over fibre.
Mixed connectors
E2000/APC to LC/APC bridges two connector systems directly, without an extra adapter and its loss.
LSZH jacket
Low-smoke, zero-halogen yellow sheath, the usual single-mode colour code, for safer indoor installation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use it with a normal SFP module?
Yes, if the module is a single-mode duplex type with matching connectors and the panel or port is APC. Most SFP modules have UPC LC ports, so check this first.
How do I recognise APC?
APC connectors and adapters are green; UPC ones are blue (single-mode) or beige/aqua (multimode).
Is it suitable for GPON/FTTH?
Yes, OS2 single-mode with APC connectors is the standard choice for PON and FTTH connections, provided the equipment ports are APC.
Singular Expert Insight · Buyer's Guide
Equip 255103 is a specialised single-mode cable: OS2 fibre, and APC connectors at both ends. It is the right part for APC panels, PON equipment and telecom hand-offs; the most common mistake is ordering it for UPC ports. For the active equipment, see our
switches with SFP/SFP+ ports.
✓ Buy it if both ends of your link are E2000/APC / LC/APC APC ports on single-mode equipment about 3 m apart.
✕ Skip it if your ports are UPC (blue) or multimode, or you need a standard duplex SFP link.
→ Also consider a UPC single-mode cable for standard LX/LR SFP links, or a different length of the same APC cable.
