equip 133454 — USB-C to RJ45 Gigabit Network Adapter

Gigabit EthernetUSB-CRJ45Aluminium

The equip 133454 is a USB-C to RJ45 Gigabit network adapter in a silver aluminium casing with an integrated 15 cm cable. It plugs into a USB-C port and gives a laptop, ultrabook, tablet or desktop PC a wired Gigabit Ethernet (10/100/1000 Mbps) connection through one RJ45 socket. The USB-C plug is compatible with Thunderbolt 3 and 4 ports, no drivers are needed on the major operating systems, and it supports Wake-on-LAN, flow control, 802.1P priority and Energy Efficient Ethernet. The aluminium body helps dissipate heat. A cable connection is the practical answer when Wi-Fi is weak or crowded, when a laptop has no network port, when the built-in port has failed, or when a PC needs a second network interface.

Compatibility — check before buying:
Compatibility — check before buying: USB-C plug only: it will not fit a USB-A port on an older PC unless you add a USB-C to USB-A adapter; any USB-C data port works, video (DP Alt Mode) is not needed. For true Gigabit the adapter needs a USB 3.x port (usually blue or marked SS); on a USB 2.0 port it still works but tops out at roughly 300 Mbps. The switch or router port and the cable (Cat5e or better) must also be Gigabit. equip lists Windows, macOS and Linux and states that no drivers are needed on the major operating systems. Not sure it suits your device? Tell us the laptop or PC model and we check it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will I get full Gigabit speed?
Yes, when the adapter is in a USB 3.x port and the switch or router port and the cable are Gigabit. On USB 2.0 it runs, but slower.
Do I need to install a driver?
No. equip states that no drivers are needed on the major operating systems.
Does it work with a Thunderbolt port?
Yes, equip lists it as compatible with Thunderbolt 3 and 4.
Can I use it with a docking station or hub?
Yes, if the hub or dock port is USB 3.x for full Gigabit speed. Many docking stations already have their own RJ45 port, so check the dock first.
Singular Expert Insight
We suggest the equip 133454 for MacBooks and USB-C ultrabooks where a silver metal adapter matches the laptop and no driver installation is wanted. For USB-A desktops, choose a USB 3.0 Gigabit adapter instead. For more ports or a full desk setup, see our docking stations; for the other end of the cable, browse network switches and routers. More network cards are in the same category. Local support in Cyprus comes with every order.
