Equip 118813 VGA Cable — 8 m, HD-15 Male to Male

8 mHD-15 M/MUp to 1280 x 960

The Equip 118813 is a 8 m VGA cable with HD-15 male connectors on both ends, rated by Equip for analogue video up to 1280 x 960 @ 60 Hz. It links a PC, laptop or other VGA source directly to a monitor or projector placed some distance away.

It uses double shielded copper conductors with ferrite beads, nickel-plated contacts, a PVC jacket and knurled thumbscrews that lock each connector in place — practical for fixed runs in classrooms, meeting rooms and workshops.

Compatibility note: Equip rates this cable for up to 1280 x 960 @ 60 Hz. Full HD (1920 x 1080) sources often still display over 8 m, but sharpness is not guaranteed — for a 1080p screen a digital HDMI or DisplayPort link is the safer choice.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the Equip 118813 carry audio?
No. VGA is an analogue, video-only interface, so the 118813 carries the picture only. Use a separate 3.5 mm audio cable to the display or speakers, or switch to HDMI if both devices support it.
What is the difference between the Equip 118813 and 118814?
Both are double shielded Equip VGA cables with ferrite beads, 30 AWG copper and a 1280 x 960 @ 60 Hz rating. The 118813 is 8 m (0.38 kg) and the 118814 is 10 m (0.455 kg). The longer 118815 (15 m) and 118816 (20 m) drop to a 1024 x 768 rating.
Singular Expert Insight
The 118813 is a sensible mid-length VGA lead for a projector on a ceiling bracket or a monitor across a room, where a standard 1.8–3 m cable falls short. The ferrite beads and double shielding help keep the analogue image clean, and at 8 m it keeps the higher 1280 x 960 rating that Equip drops on its 15 m and 20 m versions. If the display also has HDMI, a digital link is worth checking first — see our PC monitors.
✓ Buy it if you need a fixed 8 m VGA run to a projector or legacy monitor running up to 1280 x 960.
✕ Skip it if your screen is Full HD and both devices have HDMI or DisplayPort.
→ Also consider Equip 118814 (10 m) for a little more reach at the same rating.
