Equip 118803 VGA Extension Cable — 8 m, HD-15 Male to Female

8 mHD-15 M/FUp to 1280 x 960

The Equip 118803 is a 8 m VGA extension cable with an HD-15 male plug on one end and an HD-15 female socket on the other, rated by Equip for analogue video up to 1280 x 960 @ 60 Hz. It lengthens an existing VGA cable so a monitor or projector can sit further away from the PC.

It uses double shielded copper conductors, nickel-plated contacts, a PVC jacket and knurled thumbscrews that lock each connector in place — practical for fixed runs in classrooms, meeting rooms and workshops.

Compatibility note: Equip rates this cable for up to 1280 x 960 @ 60 Hz. Full HD (1920 x 1080) sources often still display over 8 m, but sharpness is not guaranteed — for a 1080p screen a digital HDMI or DisplayPort link is the safer choice.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the Equip 118803 carry audio?
No. VGA is an analogue, video-only interface, so the 118803 carries the picture only. Use a separate 3.5 mm audio cable to the display or speakers, or switch to HDMI if both devices support it.
Can the Equip 118803 connect a PC directly to a monitor?
No. PC and monitor VGA ports are normally female sockets, so this male-to-female extension plugs onto the end of an existing male-to-male VGA cable (or a fixed monitor lead) to add 8 m of reach.
Singular Expert Insight
The 118803 is the quick fix when an existing VGA cable is a few metres too short — plug it onto the end and gain 8 m without rewiring. It keeps Equip’s 1280 x 960 rating, double shielding and knurled screws. Remember that total length adds up: the original cable plus 8 m is the real run the signal travels. For HDMI-ready PC monitors a digital cable avoids the issue.
✓ Buy it if you want to extend a working VGA cable by 8 m.
✕ Skip it if you have no existing VGA cable — a male-to-male cable such as the Equip 118813 is the right part.
→ Also consider Equip 118805 (15 m extension) for longer reach.
