Equip LC/APC to LC/APC OS2 Single-mode Simplex Armoured Fibre Cable, 30 m
OS2 9/125 µmLC/APC–LC/APCSimplex · armoured30 m · LSZH
The Equip 255908 is a 30 m single-mode simplex fibre cable with LC/APC and LC/APC connectors on OS2 9/125 µm fibre, made for APC-terminated links in telecom rooms, FTTH and PON installations, data centres and carrier racks.
Inside the LSZH jacket an internal spiral armour protects the fibre, giving it better resistance to bending, twisting and crushing than a standard patch cable — useful where the cable runs through trays, floor voids or busy cabinets. Both ends use APC (angled) polish, the green-coded connector style used wherever low back-reflection matters, such as GPON/XGS-PON, RF-over-fibre and carrier hand-off panels.
Before you order: APC only: LC/APC and LC/APC here are angled (APC) connectors. They must mate with APC adapters, panels and equipment — plugging an APC connector into a UPC (blue) port causes high loss and can damage the ferrule end-faces.
What's in the Box
- 1 × Equip LC/APC–LC/APC OS2 single-mode simplex armoured fibre cable, 30 m
What It Means in Practice
- Simplex means a single fibre. That suits PON (GPON/XGS-PON ONT and splitter connections), BiDi transceivers that send and receive on one fibre, and single-fibre feeds — not a standard two-fibre SFP link, which needs two of these or a duplex cable.
- At 30 m it covers links between rooms, across a floor or up a riser to another communications room.
- Single-mode OS2 fibre carries 1310/1550 nm signals over kilometres, so the cable length is never the limit — the optics and the connectors at each end are.
- Keep dust caps on until the moment you plug in; APC end-faces should be inspected or cleaned before mating, especially on PON and CATV systems.
What Will Not Work
- UPC (blue) single-mode ports or adapters — the angled APC end-face does not mate correctly with a flat UPC one.
- Multimode equipment (OM3/OM4, 850 nm SX/SR optics) — this is single-mode fibre.
- Standard duplex LC SFP transceivers on their own — a simplex cable carries only one direction.
- Outdoor or direct-burial installation — the LSZH jacket is intended for indoor use.
Key Features
OS2 single-mode
9/125 µm fibre for long-reach 1310/1550 nm links, from in-building runs to carrier connections.
APC polish
Angled end-faces cut back-reflection, the requirement for PON, FTTH and RF video over fibre.
Internal spiral armour
Better resistance to bending and twisting than a standard patch cable for rougher routes.
LSZH jacket
Low-smoke, zero-halogen yellow sheath, the usual single-mode colour code, for safer indoor installation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use it with a normal SFP module?
Only with BiDi or PON optics that work on a single fibre. A standard two-fibre SFP needs a duplex cable.
How do I recognise APC?
APC connectors and adapters are green; UPC ones are blue (single-mode) or beige/aqua (multimode).
Is it suitable for GPON/FTTH?
Yes, OS2 single-mode with APC connectors is the standard choice for PON and FTTH connections, provided the equipment ports are APC.
Singular Expert Insight · Buyer's Guide
Equip 255908 is a specialised single-mode cable: OS2 fibre, armoured construction, and APC connectors at both ends. It is the right part for APC panels, PON equipment and telecom hand-offs; the most common mistake is ordering it for UPC ports. For the active equipment, see our
switches with SFP/SFP+ ports.
✓ Buy it if both ends of your link are LC/APC / LC/APC APC ports on single-mode equipment about 30 m apart.
✕ Skip it if your ports are UPC (blue) or multimode, or you need a standard duplex SFP link with a single cable.
→ Also consider a UPC single-mode cable for standard LX/LR SFP links, or a different length of the same APC cable.
