The equip 255423 is a 35 m duplex fiber-optic patch cable with LC connectors on both ends and OM3 multimode fiber (50/125 µm). It connects a fiber patch panel to a switch, or links two switches, servers or storage systems through their optical transceivers. equip states support for 10 Gigabit Ethernet over up to 300 m of OM3, which is the typical grade for new multimode links in offices and server rooms. The connectors have ceramic ferrules, the two 2 mm fibers are joined in a duplex construction (I-VH 2×1G), and the jacket is halogen-free, low-smoke LSZH in the aqua colour that marks OM3. At 35 m it reaches across a floor or between rooms where a copper cable would be at its limit or exposed to interference.
Compatibility — check before buying:
Match the fiber type: OM3 (50/125) should not be mixed with OM1 (62.5/125) or singlemode OS2 in the same link — check the label on your patch panel or installation cable. Match the connectors and optics: LC on both ends; your switch or server needs multimode transceivers (typically 850 nm SR modules), not singlemode LR modules.
