The Equip 255633 is a set of twelve 2 m OM3 multimode 50/125 µm pigtails, each factory-terminated with an LC/PC connector on one end and bare fibre on the other, for splicing onto incoming trunk or breakout cables in patch panels, splice boxes and distribution frames.
Each pigtail has a different colour so that fibre 1 to 12 of a trunk can be matched and labelled without mistakes — the usual way to terminate a 12-fibre cable with factory-polished connectors instead of field-fitting them.
Before you order: These are pigtails, not patch cables: only one end has a connector. The free end must be fusion-spliced (or mechanically spliced) to the incoming fibre, so you need splicing equipment and splice protection in the panel or box.

What It Means in Practice
- Typical job: strip the incoming 12-fibre OM3 cable in a patch panel, splice one pigtail to each fibre, and plug the LC/PC connectors into the panel's adapters from the inside.
- The colour of each pigtail lets you follow the fibre order of the trunk, so port 1 is fibre 1 at both ends of the link.
- Factory-terminated connectors give consistent loss values, which is easier and more reliable than polishing connectors on site.
- The 2 m length leaves enough slack to coil the fibres in the splice tray and to re-splice once if a splice has to be redone.
What Will Not Work
- Plug-and-play patching — the second end is bare fibre and must be spliced.
- Single-mode (OS2) trunk cables — splice OM3 pigtails only onto 50/125 µm multimode fibre.
- Adapters or panels of another connector type — these fit LC adapters only.
- Use without splice protection sleeves and a splice tray — these are not included.
