Equip SC-SC Duplex Fiber Optic Patch Cable, OM1 Multimode 62.5/125, 10m, LSZH, Orange
OM1 multimodeSC-SC duplex10 mLSZH
The Equip 253320 is a 10 m duplex SC-to-SC OM1 multimode (62.5/125 µm) fibre patch cable with a LSZH jacket in orange, for connecting SR/SX multimode optics in switches, routers, media converters and patch panels.
Duplex means two fibres in one cord: one transmits and one receives, which is what almost every SFP module and media converter expects. The LSZH (Low Smoke Zero Halogen) jacket gives off little smoke and no halogen gases in a fire, which is why it is the usual choice for offices, server rooms and shared spaces.
What's in the Box
- 1 × SC/SC duplex fibre patch cord, 10 m
- Measurement protocol
What It Means in Practice
- OM1 (62.5/125) is the older multimode grade, used to extend or repair legacy installations. Per IEEE 802.3, 1000BASE-SX reaches about 275 m and 10GBASE-SR only 33 m on OM1.
- SC: the larger square push-pull connector found on media converters, older switch modules, GPON ONTs and many patch panels
- Colour code: orange is the usual jacket colour for OM1 fibre, so the run is easy to tell apart in a shared rack.
- Handling: keep the dust caps on until you plug in, clean the end faces before mating, and route the cable without sharp bends or tight ties — most "dead" fibre links are a dirty connector or a kinked cord, not a faulty cable.
What Will Not Work
- Single-mode LX/LR transceivers (1310/1550 nm) — they need OS2 single-mode cable.
- 50/125 (OM2/OM3/OM4/OM5) cable or couplers — mixing core sizes causes heavy loss; keep the whole link on 62.5/125.
- SFP/SFP+ modules — those use LC. Use an LC-to-SC cord for a direct module connection.
- Copper RJ45 ports — fibre needs an optical transceiver or a media converter at each end.

Frequently Asked Questions
Singular Expert Insight · Buyer's Guide
A fibre cord has to match your equipment on three things: fibre type (multimode OM1), connector (SC) and polish (UPC/PC). Before ordering, read the label on the SFP module (e.g. SR or SX) in your switch with SFP ports. Measure the route with some slack: fibre should never be pulled tight or bent sharply.
✓ Buy it if your optics are multimode SR/SX with SC ports and the route is about 10 m.
✕ Skip it if your transceivers are single-mode (LR/LX), or one end needs a different connector.
→ Also consider the single-mode OS2 version for LR optics, or a different length of the same cord.
Not sure which cord you need? Send us the model of your switch, SFP module or patch panel and we will check fibre type, connector and polish before you order.
