Build
28 AWG copper · double shielded

The Equip 128850 is a 1.8 m USB 2.0 extension cable with a USB-A plug and a USB-A socket, for bringing a PC's rear USB port to the desk or giving a keyboard, mouse, webcam, USB stick or wireless dongle extra reach. It uses 28 AWG copper conductors with double shielding and nickel-plated contacts in a black PVC jacket, at up to 480 Mbit/s.

Compatibility note: USB 2.0 is specified for passive runs up to about 5 m. Keep the extension plus the device's own cable within that total, or use an active repeater for longer distances.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I put a wireless mouse receiver on the Equip 128850 to improve range?
Yes. Moving a tiny wireless receiver off the back of the PC and onto the desk with an extension often cures lag and dropouts, because the receiver then has a clear line to the mouse or keyboard.
Does it also work with USB 3.0 devices?
Yes, USB 3.0 devices plugged into it work, but at USB 2.0 speed (480 Mbit/s). For fast external SSDs or drives, use a USB 3.x extension instead.
Singular Expert Insight
A properly shielded extension like this is the tidy fix for PCs whose only free ports are at the back. 1.8 m reaches from a floor-standing tower to the desktop. Browse the full range of USB cables and adapters at Singular.
✓ Buy it if you need to bring a USB-A port to the desk for keyboards, dongles, webcams or USB sticks.
✕ Skip it if you need full USB 3.x speed for external drives, or a run beyond 5 m.
→ Also consider Equip 128851 (3.0 m) or Good Connections 2511-OF2S (1.8 m, oxygen-free copper).
