The Equip 118943 is a 1.8 m DVI-A (12+5) male to VGA (HD15) male cable for connecting a PC, graphics card or KVM switch with an analogue-capable DVI output to a VGA monitor or projector at up to WUXGA 1920 × 1200. Part number 118943 has gold-plated contacts, double shielding and a PVC jacket with straight (non-angled) plugs.

Compatibility note: Works only with DVI-I or DVI-A outputs that carry an analogue signal. Most modern graphics cards have DVI-D (digital-only) ports, which do not output VGA — check that your port has the four analogue pins around the flat blade.

No. DVI-D is digital-only and has no analogue pins, so a passive DVI-A cable cannot produce a VGA signal from it. You need an active DVI-D (or HDMI) to VGA converter instead.
