Ricoh fi-7600: 300-sheet A3 production scanner in an 11 kg desktop body
80 ppm / 160 ipm A4 portrait300-sheet ADFUp to A3 (304.8 x 431.8 mm)44,000 sheets per day
The Ricoh fi-7600 (formerly Fujitsu fi-7600) is a production-class A3 duplex document scanner with a 300-sheet ADF, rated at 80 ppm / 160 ipm for A4 portrait and 100 ppm / 200 ipm landscape, built for scanning bureaus, mailrooms and back offices that digitise large volumes of loose paper. It accepts originals from small cards up to 304.8 x 431.8 mm, so A3 drawings, ledgers and mixed-size batches go through the same feeder. Ricoh rates it for 44,000 sheets per day, yet the unit weighs only 11 kg and has a 236 x 432 mm footprint, and it is designed so the operator can work from either the front or the back. Two CCD sensors capture both sides in one pass, ultrasonic multifeed detection catches double feeds, and PaperStream IP automatically cleans images by removing blank pages, straightening skewed sheets and dropping background noise. It connects to a Windows capture PC by USB 3.1 Gen 1. The operator can load paper and collect output from the front, so the scanner can stand against a wall in a busy scanning room. If your project includes bound books or registers alongside loose paper, consider pairing it with an overhead or flatbed scanner rather than forcing those originals through the feeder. For most loose-paper archive work, though, the fi-7600 is all that is needed.
Before you order: It is USB-only and the drivers are for Windows and Windows Server: plan a dedicated Windows PC for the capture station.
What's in the Box
- Ricoh fi-7600 scanner
- Stacker
- ADF paper chute
- AC adapter and AC cable
- USB cable
- Setup DVD-ROM with PaperStream IP driver and PaperStream Capture
What It Means in Practice
- A full 300-sheet hopper of A4 pages is scanned double-sided in under two minutes, so operators reload less often.
- Mixed A3 and A4 batches can be fed together, with paper from 20 to 413 g/m² and up to three plastic cards at a time.
- Ultrasonic multifeed detection stops the batch when two sheets stick together, so no page is silently lost.
- Long documents up to 5,588 mm can be scanned at 200 dpi or less.
- An optional post imprinter can stamp a counter or date on each page for audit trails.
What Will Not Work
- There is no flatbed; bound books and fragile originals cannot be scanned (see the fi-7700 for that).
- There is no network port or Wi-Fi; it connects to one PC by USB.
- Mac and Linux are not supported.
- It is oversized for a typical small office that scans a few hundred pages a day.
Key Features
Large hopper
300 sheets per load keeps operators productive in long jobs and suits box-by-box archive projects.
Hardware paper protection
Ultrasonic overlap detection, length detection and paper protection functions protect originals in mixed and old batches.
Compact for its class
At 11 kg and a 236 mm wide body, it fits on an ordinary desk while still offering production-level throughput.
PaperStream software
PaperStream IP cleans images automatically and PaperStream Capture handles batch profiles, barcode separation and indexing.

Frequently Asked Questions
Should I choose the fi-7600 or the fi-7700?
They share the same 300-sheet A3 feeder and speed. The fi-7700 adds an A3+ flatbed and weighs 35 kg; choose it only if you must scan bound or fragile material.
Which consumables will I need?
Pick and brake rollers are the main wear parts; Ricoh sells them as a kit rated for about 500,000 scans, plus cleaning wipes. We can quote them with the scanner.
Can it scan plastic cards and thick covers in the same batch?
Yes. Paper from 20 to 413 g/m² is supported, and up to three plastic cards up to 1.4 mm can be fed at a time, so file covers and ID cards do not need to be removed first.
The unit I receive says Fujitsu, not Ricoh. Is that a different scanner?
No. Fujitsu's scanner business (PFU) is now part of Ricoh, and part number PA03740-B501 has been sold under both badges. A Fujitsu-badged and a Ricoh-badged fi-7600 are the same scanner and use the same drivers, PaperStream software and consumables, so either label is fine.
Singular Expert Insight · Buyer's Guide
For pure loose-paper volume, the fi-7600 is the better value than the fi-7700: same feeder, a third of the weight. Production projects generate many gigabytes of images per week, so plan the storage and backup before scanning starts, for example on
NAS storage. We can also quote spare roller kits and cleaning supplies at the same time, so the station never stops for consumables.
✓ Buy it if Buy it for high-volume digitisation of loose A3 and A4 paper on one dedicated capture station.
✕ Skip it if Skip it if you need a flatbed or a network scanner. For lower daily volumes, the fi-7480 or fi-7460 offer A3 in a lighter, cheaper unit.
→ Also consider Also consider the Ricoh fi-7480 if 100 sheets per load and 24,000 pages a day are enough.
