Gigabyte AORUS RTX 5060 Ti AI BOX — External GPU over Thunderbolt 5
RTX 5060 Ti 16GBThunderbolt 5100W laptop charging4 displays
The Gigabyte AORUS RTX 5060 Ti AI BOX is an external graphics box that adds an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 Ti with 16GB GDDR7 (Blackwell, DLSS 4) to a laptop or desktop through a single Thunderbolt 5 cable. It is aimed at ultrabook and workstation-laptop users who want desktop-class graphics for 1080p–1440p gaming, 3D rendering and local AI workloads at the desk, and full portability on the road.
The same cable charges the laptop with up to 100W Power Delivery and turns the box into a dock: three DisplayPort 2.1b and one HDMI 2.1b outputs (up to four displays, max 7680 × 4320), USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C and two Type-A ports, 2.5GbE Ethernet and a Thunderbolt 5 downstream port. Cooling is a WINDFORCE system with Hawk fans and semi-passive operation; the box can stand vertically on its magnetic stand or lie flat.
Before you order: Requires a PC with a Thunderbolt port that supports external GPUs, running Windows 11 version 25H2 or later. Thunderbolt 5 hosts give the full 80Gbps; on Thunderbolt 4/USB4 ports performance is lower, and USB4 eGPU support varies by laptop maker. macOS is not listed. Send us your laptop model and we will check.
What's in the Box
- 1 × AORUS RTX 5060 Ti AI BOX (graphics card installed)
- 1 × box stand
- 1 × Thunderbolt 5 cable, 800 mm (USB Type-C)
- 1 × 330W power adapter and power cord
- 1 × installation guide
What It Means in Practice
- One cable to the laptop delivers GPU, displays, USB, Ethernet and up to 100W charging — a single-cable desk setup.
- Connect monitors to the box's own DP/HDMI outputs for best performance, rather than routing the picture back to the laptop screen.
- 16GB VRAM gives room for larger textures and local AI models (e.g. LLM inference, Stable Diffusion) that 8GB cards struggle with.
- GIGABYTE's GPU Selector (Smart Deploy Multi-GPU) helps assign apps to the external or internal GPU.
What Will Not Work
- It will not work on USB-C ports without Thunderbolt/USB4 eGPU support, or on Windows 10.
- It is not a macOS eGPU solution.
- Gaming performance over Thunderbolt is below the same GPU in a desktop PCIe slot, especially on the laptop's own screen.
- The graphics card is integrated — this is not an empty enclosure for swapping in other GPUs.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will it work with my laptop's USB-C port?
Only if the port is Thunderbolt (or USB4 with eGPU support from the laptop maker). Plain USB-C data ports will not run an eGPU. Send us the laptop model.
Can I use it with Thunderbolt 4?
Thunderbolt 5 is backwards compatible, but bandwidth is lower on Thunderbolt 4/USB4, so GPU performance drops accordingly.
Does it charge my laptop?
Yes, up to 100W over the same Thunderbolt cable — enough for most ultrabooks and many creator laptops.
Singular Expert Insight · Buyer's Guide
The AI BOX turns a thin laptop into a desk workstation with one cable: a 16GB RTX 5060 Ti, four display outputs, Ethernet, USB and 100W charging. Check that your laptop has Thunderbolt with eGPU support and Windows 11 25H2, plug monitors into the box, and if you prefer a fixed desktop, compare with our
graphics cards.
✓ Buy it if you use a Thunderbolt laptop and want desktop-class graphics, 16GB VRAM for AI and a one-cable dock at your desk.
✕ Skip it if your laptop lacks Thunderbolt/eGPU support, you use macOS, or you only need a dock without a GPU.
→ Also consider a desktop RTX 5060 Ti card if you have a tower PC with a PCIe x16 slot.
Not sure your laptop supports it? Send us the exact laptop model and we will check eGPU and Thunderbolt support before you order.
