The Z890 AORUS PRO ICE uses Intel's Z890 Express chipset and LGA1851 socket for supported Intel Core Ultra processors. Its 16+1+2 phase digital power design uses 90A Smart Power Stages on the VCORE phases.
 
DDR5 up to 256GB
Four DDR5 DIMM sockets support up to 256GB in dual-channel mode. GIGABYTE lists memory speeds from DDR5-5600 through DDR5-6400 natively and overclocked profiles reaching up to DDR5-9500, with XMP and CUDIMM support dependent on the CPU and memory configuration.
 
Five M.2 storage sockets
Storage expansion is a major strength: one CPU-connected M.2 socket supports PCIe 5.0 x4/x2, a second CPU-connected socket supports PCIe 4.0 x4/x2, and three more PCIe 4.0 M.2 sockets connect through the chipset. One of the chipset sockets also accepts SATA M.2 SSDs.
