Gigabyte Z890 D PLUS — the leanest route to Z890 for Core Ultra
Intel Z890 · LGA1851DDR5 9466+ MT/s (OC) · CUDIMMPCIe 5.0 x16 + Gen5 M.22.5GbE · no Wi-Fi
The Gigabyte Z890 D PLUS (part number Z890 D PLUS) is an ATX motherboard for Intel Core Ultra (Series 2) processors on LGA1851, giving the Z890 chipset overclocking platform in its leanest, most affordable form for gaming and workstation builds.
A 12+1+2 twin digital VRM feeds the CPU, four DDR5 slots support up to 256GB and overclocked kits beyond 9466 MT/s (CUDIMM supported), and the PCIe 5.0 x16 slot is paired with four M.2 slots: one PCIe 5.0 x4 (up to 25110) and three PCIe 4.0 x4, one of which also takes SATA M.2 SSDs.
The rear panel has Realtek 2.5GbE, a 10 Gbps USB-C, a 10 Gbps USB-A, four 5 Gbps USB-A and one DisplayPort 2.1 output. Internally there is a serial (COM) header and connectors for a Gigabyte Thunderbolt 5 add-in card.
Compatibility note: There is no Wi-Fi, no USB4 and only one DisplayPort for integrated graphics (no HDMI). Audio is a basic Realtek codec with 5.1-channel output and no S/PDIF. The two x16-length chipset slots run PCIe 4.0 x4. Core Ultra F-series CPUs have no integrated graphics.
