The Gigaset N870E IP PRO is a professional DECT multicell base station with two detachable, adjustable external antennas on TNC connectors, handling up to 10 simultaneous calls per base for SIP telephony in businesses. The external antennas let you cover outdoor areas, production halls, warehouses, stairwells and car parks while the base itself sits indoors or in a cabinet.
The same hardware can take the role of base, DECT Manager or Integrator, so small sites can start with one unit and grow. It uses the same technology as the N870 and can be mixed with N870 bases in one system.
Before you order: This is a base station only — DECT handsets (e.g. Gigaset R700H PRO, S700H PRO) and a SIP PBX or SIP provider are required and sold separately. The unit is IP20 and must be mounted indoors; only the antennas extend the coverage outside.

What It Means in Practice
- Power from an 802.3af PoE switch, or with the optional Gigaset power supply (sold separately).
- Single system (DECT Manager): up to 60 bases, 250 users/handsets and 60 parallel calls; with an Integrator up to 240 bases and 800 users.
- Range up to 50 m indoors and 300 m outdoors in open space; walls and metal reduce this, so plan bases with a site survey.
- Codecs G.711, G.722 (HD voice) and G.729; SIP with SRTP/TLS for encrypted calls.
What Will Not Work
- Use without DECT handsets and a SIP PBX/provider.
- Mounting the base outdoors (IP20).
- US-band (1.9 GHz) DECT handsets — this is the EU 1880–1900 MHz version.
- Analogue or ISDN lines directly.
