Jabra GN1000 — Remote Handset Lifter for Jabra Wireless Headsets
Answer away from the deskFor phones without EHSUp to 150 m (headset range)Connects to base AUX port
The Jabra GN1000 Remote Handset Lifter (1000-04) is a mechanical lifter that sits on a desk phone and lifts or returns the handset when you press the call button on a Jabra wireless headset, so you can answer and end desk-phone calls while you are away from your desk.
It is the solution for desk phones that have no electronic hook switch (EHS) port. The lifter connects to the AUX port of the Jabra wireless headset base; when a call rings you hear the ring tone in the headset, tap the headset button and the GN1000 lifts the handset. Range follows the headset — Jabra quotes up to 150 m.
Before you order: Needs a Jabra wireless headset with a base station that has an AUX port (e.g. Jabra PRO 9400 series, Engage 55/65/75, GN9120, GN9300). It does nothing with corded or USB/Bluetooth-only headsets.
What's in the Box
- Jabra GN1000 handset lifter with attached cable
- Adhesive pads for mounting on the phone
What It Means in Practice
- Answer calls from the printer, the warehouse or a colleague's desk without running back to the phone.
- On the headset base set EHS mode to "RHL" and the clear dial tone switch to A, as Jabra describes in its setup guide.
- The lifter sticks to the phone with the supplied adhesive and the handset rests on its arm — no change to the phone itself.
What Will Not Work
- Corded headsets, and Bluetooth or USB headsets that have no base with an AUX port.
- Softphones on a PC — the lifter only moves a physical handset.
- Phones that support EHS — use the matching Jabra Link EHS cable instead for full call control.
- Phones whose handset cradle cannot hold the lifter (some wall-mounted or very compact phones) — send us the model.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need this if my phone has EHS?
No. With EHS, a Jabra Link EHS cable gives cleaner call control without a mechanical lifter.
Will I hear the phone ring in the headset?
The lifter itself does not detect ringing; the Jabra base handles the ring signal depending on the headset model. Tell us your headset and phone and we will confirm.
Does it work with my Jabra Evolve?
Evolve headsets connect to PCs, not to a base with an AUX port, so no.
Singular Expert Insight · Buyer's Guide
The GN1000 is the simple answer for older or analogue desk phones where an EHS cable does not exist. Before ordering, check that your headset base has an AUX port and that the phone handset cradle has room for the lifter. If you are choosing a new wireless headset, see our

✓ Buy it if you use a Jabra DECT wireless headset on a desk phone without EHS and want to answer calls away from the desk.
