The Grandstream GXP1625 is a basic two-line IP phone with integrated PoE, for offices that power their desk phones from the network switch. It has two SIP accounts, a backlit 2.95-inch 132×48 LCD, a full-duplex HD speakerphone and 3-way conferencing, plus two switched 10/100 Mbps ports so a PC can connect through the phone.

In practice, one network cable from a PoE switch both powers the GXP1625 and connects it — no power socket needed at the desk, and the phones keep working during a power cut if the switch sits on a UPS. Grandstream also lists a universal power adapter in the package, so the phone still works on a switch without PoE.

Compatibility — check before buying:
Both network ports are 10/100 Mbps: a computer connected through the phone is limited to 100 Mbps — for Gigabit pass-through, choose the GXP1628. PoE is IEEE 802.3af: the switch or injector must supply 802.3af PoE. It needs a SIP account or an IP PBX — it does not work on an analogue phone line. Not sure it suits your setup? Frequently Asked Questions

Does it work without a phone system?
No. Grandstream’s GXP1625 is a SIP phone: it needs a SIP account from a VoIP provider or an extension on an office IP PBX, and it connects over the computer network, not to a normal analogue phone line. Tell us which provider or phone system you use and we confirm the setup before you order.
Do I need a PoE switch?
No, but it is the neat way to install it. On an 802.3af PoE switch or injector, one cable powers and connects the phone. Without PoE, use the power adapter listed in Grandstream’s package contents.
Will it slow down the PC connected through it?
The pass-through port is 10/100 Mbps, so the PC gets up to 100 Mbps. For everyday office use that is often enough; for large file transfers choose the Gigabit GXP1628 or GXP1630.
What warranty do I get?
Singular gives a 1-year direct warranty on the GXP1625. Grandstream publishes a one-year warranty counted from the date its certified partner receives the product. Beyond our first year we help you with the manufacturer’s process, so you are not left to deal with it alone.
