The herlitz FiloActive XL Plus TechMech (part number 50048908) is a 5-piece school satchel set with a 21 L ergonomic satchel, filled pencil case, pencil pouch, sports bag and lunch box, made for primary school children of roughly 120 to 140 cm body height and parents who want everything for the school start in one matching design.
The satchel uses herlitz's ergoActive back system, which adjusts infinitely in height to grow with the child, with breathable Airflow padding, adjustable shoulder and chest straps and a removable hip belt. The back system is IGR certified, and a Fidlock magnetic lock lets children open and close the lid with one hand.
Before you order: This is the FiloActive XL, not the FiloActive DIN model: herlitz does not certify it to DIN 58124 (the school-bag safety standard with fluorescent warning colours). If your school requires DIN 58124, ask us for the DIN version.

What It Means in Practice
- 21 L holds A4 exercise books and folders, with a separate book compartment in the main section.
- The infinitely adjustable back lets you set the satchel to the child's back length now and extend it in later school years.
- Reflectors help visibility in the dark; the rigid base plate with feet keeps the satchel upright and protects the bottom.
- Two elastic side pockets take a drinks bottle, and a secret pocket in the lid keeps small items safe.
What Will Not Work
- It is not DIN 58124 certified.
- It is not a laptop bag — there is no padded laptop compartment.
- At around 1.15 kg empty it is a full satchel, not a light day-pack for older pupils.
- The sports bag, pencil case, pencil pouch and lunch box are not covered by the herlitz satchel warranty.
