The HERMA 20117 is an A4 elasticated folder made of sturdy cardboard with a horse world motif, for children and students who carry loose worksheets, drawings and handouts between school and home.
Three interior flaps fold over the papers and elastic straps across the corners keep the folder closed, so sheets do not slide out in a school bag. The Horse World design — horses with braided, ribbon-decorated manes in a meadow of purple flowers — is printed on the outside and the inside.
What's in the Box
- 1 × HERMA elasticated folder A4, horse world motif (article 20117)
What It Means in Practice
- Holds unpunched A4 sheets loose — no hole-punching, rings or sleeves needed.
- Ideal for one subject or one project: worksheets, drawings, certificates, handouts.
- Cardboard is light and keeps sheets from creasing, but it is not waterproof — keep it away from drinks and rain.
- A motif cover makes it easy for a child to recognise their own folder in a classroom pile.
What Will Not Work
- Not for punched filing — there are no rings or binding mechanism; use a ring binder for that.
- Not water-resistant: cardboard absorbs liquid. For wet conditions choose a polypropylene (PP) folder.
- Not for thick stacks — HERMA does not publish a fill height; for large volumes a box file is the better choice.
- Not for A3: larger drawings have to be folded to fit.
Key Features
Three flaps + elastic
Flaps on three sides plus elastic corner straps keep loose sheets inside, even when the folder is carried upright.
Sturdy cardboard
Rigid enough to keep A4 sheets flat and protected from creasing inside a school bag.
Motif cover
The horse world design gives each child or subject a folder that is easy to spot.

Singular Expert Insight · Buyer's Guide
A cardboard elasticated folder is the simplest way to stop worksheets ending up crumpled at the bottom of a school bag. Use one folder per subject and choose different motifs so each subject is easy to find. More HERMA folders, labels and school supplies are in our stationery range.
✓ Buy it if you want a light A4 folder with a horse world motif for school worksheets and drawings.
✕ Skip it if you need a waterproof folder or punched filing — choose a PP folder or a ring binder.
→ Also consider HERMA Horse World in A3 (20118) for larger drawings, or other HERMA A4 motifs such as dogs (19211) or cats (19212).
