This black Orbit MS7120 kit is designed for an RS-232 host connection and includes a 2.9 m straight serial cable, EU power supply and mounting plate. Present a printed linear label to its window; the 20-line laser pattern reduces the need to align the code with one beam. The adjustable head helps position the reading area, and the small scanner can be lifted for bulky items.

Before you order:
Confirm that the POS has the required serial port and matching communication settings. This is the RS-232 EU kit, not the USB kit. It reads printed 1D labels, not QR or Data Matrix; 1120 scan lines/s is not a count of completed transactions.

What It Means in Practice

  • For example, present an EAN product label at the checkout and send the barcode into the compatible POS application. The POS looks up the item; the scanner does not contain a product-price database.

What Will Not Work

  • No QR or Data Matrix decoding.
  • No Bluetooth or wireless roaming.
  • CodeGate single-line selection and RF EAS features of OrbitCG7180 are not features of this7120.

Is omnidirectional the same as2D?
No. It describes the multi-line reading pattern. MS7120 still reads linear1D barcodes, not QR or DataMatrix.
Are the RS-232 cable and EU power supply separate purchases?
