The Honeywell PM45 (PM45A00000000200) is a 4-inch industrial thermal transfer label printer for warehouses, distribution centres and production lines that print shipping, pallet and product labels all day.

This standard configuration prints at 203 dpi up to 108 mm wide and 350 mm per second, takes 213 mm media rolls and 450 m ribbons, and has an icon display, a tear bar and USB, Ethernet, serial and two USB host ports built in. ZSim2 (ZPL II) and DPL emulations let it replace Zebra or Datamax printers without rewriting label formats.

Before you order: This is the icon-display version with a tear bar. Labels and ribbon are not included — order them with the printer.

  • Speed: up to 350 mm/s (14 ips) at 203 dpi, with labels up to 4.8 m long, keeps pace with shipping lines and batch jobs.
  • Drop-in replacement: Honeywell Fingerprint, Direct Protocol and IPL plus ZSim2 (ZPL II) and DPL emulation run existing Intermec, Zebra and Datamax label formats; XML and PDF printing are also supported.
  • Media: labels and tags 19–114 mm wide and 0.08–0.26 mm thick, roll-fed or fan-fold, with wax, wax/resin and resin ribbons, ink in or out.
  • Connectivity: 10/100 Ethernet, USB 2.0 device, two USB host ports (scanner, keyboard or USB memory) and RS-232 are standard.
  • Durability: an all-metal print mechanism and tool-less platen and printhead replacement keep downtime short.

What Will Not Work

  • Cutting, peeling or rewinding: labels are torn off by hand. Cutter, peeler and rewinder are separate options.
  • Wi-Fi or Bluetooth: not included in this configuration; WLAN and Bluetooth are optional interfaces.
  • Full touch screen: this version has the icon display. The full-touch display is a different PM45 configuration.
  • Wide labels: maximum print width is 108 mm; 6-inch labels need a 6-inch industrial printer.

Usually yes: ZSim2 emulates ZPL II and DPL emulation covers Datamax formats. Send us a sample label file and we will test it before you order.

Cutter, peeler and wireless are offered as PM45 options; tell us which you need so we can confirm the right kit for this configuration.
Which ribbon should I use?
Wax for paper labels, mid-range (wax/resin) for coated paper and synthetics, resin for harsh environments. Choose a ribbon slightly wider than the label.
