The Honeywell Thor VM1A (VM1A-L0N-1B2A20E) is a rugged Android vehicle-mount computer for forklifts, reach trucks and yard vehicles, with an 8-inch 1280 x 768 display, Snapdragon 660, 4GB/32GB and Wi-Fi 5 2x2. This version has the defroster resistive touchscreen for freezer trucks and SMA ports for external WLAN antennas.
The Thor design separates the computer from the vehicle dock: the dock stays wired to the truck and the computer lifts off in seconds for service or to move it to another vehicle. An internal UPS keeps it running for about 30 minutes when vehicle power drops.
Before you order: Dock, mount, power cable, keyboard and scanner are not included — the computer cannot run on a truck without a Thor VM1A dock. External antennas for the SMA ports are also sold separately. Tell us the vehicle voltage and your scanners and we will specify the full kit.

What It Means in Practice
- The defroster keeps the screen clear when the truck moves between freezer and ambient zones; the resistive touch works with thick gloves.
- SMA ports let you fit roof or mast antennas for better Wi-Fi in large or metal-heavy buildings.
- Quick-release Thor dock: swap a faulty unit in seconds without rewiring the vehicle.
- Connect a corded or Bluetooth scanner through the dock ports or Bluetooth 5.0.
- The internal UPS covers engine restarts and battery swaps on electric forklifts for about 30 minutes.
What Will Not Work
- No built-in barcode scanner — pair a tethered or Bluetooth scanner.
- No keyboard in the box — add a Thor VM1A keyboard if drivers type a lot.
- No cellular (WWAN) radio — Wi-Fi only.
- The 400-nit display is not the 900-nit outdoor version for direct sunlight.
