HP 230X High Yield Yellow Original LaserJet Toner Cartridge, ~5,500 Pages, for Color LaserJet Pro 4203 and MFP 4303

The HP 230X is an original yellow toner cartridge rated at ~5,500 pages (ISO/IEC 19798), made for the HP Color LaserJet Pro 4203 and MFP 4303 series.

It uses HP TerraJet toner and carries HP's security chip, which the printer checks when the cartridge is installed.

• The rated ~5,500 pages is measured with the ISO test pages, which cover about 5% of each page. Dense graphics, solid areas or photos use more toner, so your real page count can be lower; short text memos can give more.
• The X cartridge holds roughly three times the pages of the standard 230A, so it is the cheaper choice per page if you print more than a few hundred colour pages a month.
• Swapping takes about a minute: open the front door, pull out the empty cartridge, remove the packing and tape from the new one and slide it in until it clicks. The printer reads the chip and shows the remaining level on its panel or web page.
• Colour printers stop or warn when any single colour runs out, so many offices keep a spare of the colour they print most.
• Store spare cartridges sealed in the original bag and box, lying flat, away from heat and direct sunlight, and open them only when you are ready to install.

• It will not fit printers outside the list in the specification table, even if they look similar (for example the Color LaserJet Pro 4202 and MFP 4302, which take HP 220 cartridges).
