HP 235 — Wireless Keyboard and Mouse Combo, English International
Full-size 3-zone2.5 mm key travel1600 dpi mouse16-month battery
The HP 235 (1Y4D0UT#ABB) is the wireless set HP puts on business desks, and the reason to look at it rather than the cheapest thing on the shelf is the keyboard action: a three-zone full-size layout with low-profile plunger keys and 2.5 mm of travel, which is a real stroke rather than the flat tap of a laptop board. The twelve function keys work with one press rather than an Fn combination, and there are Caps, Num and Scroll lock indicators. The keyboard is 44 × 14.62 × 2.76 cm and 500 g. The mouse is a three-button shape with red optical tracking at 1600 dpi — higher than the 1000 dpi that comes with most bundled sets — 11.5 × 6.33 × 3.62 cm and 60 g. Both run on a 2.4 GHz link with up to 10 m of range in the open, and the batteries last up to 16 months for the keyboard and 12 for the mouse. In the box: keyboard, mouse, batteries and documentation.
Compatibility — check before buying:
Layout: English International QWERTY is the layout most people in Cyprus type on: QWERTY letters with the international symbol set. If your current keyboard is UK layout, the Enter key changes shape and a few symbols move, but letters and numbers are identical. Both devices connect over 2.4 GHz through the supplied receiver in a free USB-A port — a USB-C-only laptop needs an adapter or a dock. There is no Bluetooth, so the set cannot be paired to a tablet or a phone, and it will not work in the BIOS before the operating system loads. There is no backlight and no palm rest. HP lists Windows 10 and Windows 11; the set follows standard USB HID so it also works on macOS and Linux with the keys labelled for Windows. HP does not publish an encryption claim, a key count, a key-life rating, a spill rating, a colour, or the receiver type for this model, and its localisation-code table is not public — so if the exact national layout is critical, tell us and we will confirm the suffix with HP before you order.

Key Features
A key stroke you can feel
2.5 mm of low-profile plunger travel — quiet and shallow, but still a stroke rather than a tap.
Function keys that just work
All twelve F-keys activate with a single press instead of holding Fn, which sounds trivial until you use spreadsheets.
1600 dpi mouse
Higher tracking resolution than the 1000 dpi mice bundled with most sets, which shows on a large or dual-screen desk.
Over a year between battery changes
Up to 16 months for the keyboard and 12 for the mouse, on cells HP includes.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the wireless link encrypted?
HP does not publish an encryption claim for the 235. If your IT policy requires an encrypted wireless keyboard, ask us for the HP 330, which publishes AES 128-bit.
Do I need to hold Fn for the function keys?
No. HP specifies one-touch activation for all twelve function keys.
Will it work in the BIOS?
No. A wireless set is not available before the operating system loads — keep a wired keyboard for those machines.
Which layout is this part number?
The suffix after the # is HP’s localisation code. HP does not publish a public table of these codes, so if the exact layout is critical, tell us and we will confirm it with HP before you order.
Singular Expert Insight
The HP 235 is the sensible middle of the wireless combo range: better key travel and a better mouse than the cheap sets, without the price of a business Bolt or Bluetooth kit. If encryption or Bluetooth is on the list, look at the HP 330 or the Logitech MK370 instead. See our

Buyer’s Guide
Buy it if
You want a full-size wireless set with a real 2.5 mm key stroke and a 1600 dpi mouse, in English International layout.
Skip it if
You need Bluetooth, an encrypted link, a backlight, a palm rest, BIOS access, or a published spill rating.
Also consider
HP 330 for an AES-encrypted wireless link, or the HP 225 if you would rather have a wired set.
