HP 70 Gray Original DesignJet Ink Cartridge, 130 ml Pigment, for DesignJet Z3100 and Z3200 Photo Printers

The HP 70 Gray (C9450A) is an original HP ink cartridge with 130 ml of pigment-based (HP Vivera) ink, rated at Yield not published, for the HP DesignJet Z3100 and Z3200 Photo Printer series.

Gray is one of the extra inks HP added to the Z-series photo printers to give smooth neutral greys and black-and-white prints without a colour cast. The printer stops when the gray slot is empty, so studios and print shops usually keep one spare on the shelf.

• 1 × HP 70 Gray original ink cartridge (C9450A)
• Factory-sealed HP packaging with the cartridge in its protective bag
• No printhead included — HP 70 printheads are separate parts

• Slide it into the Gray slot; the slots are keyed, so it cannot go in the wrong position
• The printer reads the chip and shows the ink level, so you can see when to reorder
• Pigment ink is made for fade resistance on photo and fine-art media — the reason the Z-series is used for exhibition and proof work
• Store it in the box at room temperature; HP states a 24-month shelf life for the unopened cartridge
• Keep a spare: a large-format job that stops halfway because one colour runs out wastes expensive media

• Not for desktop HP printers (DeskJet, OfficeJet, ENVY, Smart Tank)
• Not a printhead: if the printer reports a printhead error, a new cartridge will not fix it
• Not for DesignJet models that use HP 72, HP 727 or HP 730 cartridges — the HP 70 shape and chip are different
• Not interchangeable with other HP 70 colours: Light Gray, Photo Black and the others each have their own slot and part number
