HP OfficeJet 250 Mobile All-in-One — Battery-Powered A4 Print, Copy & Scan
Battery powered2.96 kg10-sheet ADFWi-Fi Direct
The HP OfficeJet 250 Mobile All-in-One (CZ992A) is a portable A4 colour inkjet that prints, copies and scans on a built-in rechargeable battery, connected over Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Direct or USB, for field engineers, sales teams, site offices and vehicles where a full-size printer will not fit or there is no socket.
At under 3 kg and 38 cm wide it fits in a car boot or a laptop bag compartment. The trade-off is volume and convenience: it is designed for 100–300 pages a month, scans through a sheet feeder rather than a glass, and duplex is manual.
Before you order: No flatbed glass — originals are scanned through the 10-sheet feeder, so books, thick cards and bound documents cannot be scanned. Duplex is manual and there is no fax or Ethernet.
What's in the Box
- HP OfficeJet 250 Mobile All-in-One printer
- Rechargeable lithium-ion battery
- HP 62 setup black cartridge (approx. 200 pages) and setup tri-colour cartridge (approx. 120 pages), per HP
- Power cord
- Setup poster and regulatory flyer
What It Means in Practice
- Battery printing runs at about 9 ppm black / 6 ppm colour versus 10 / 7 ppm on mains (ISO).
- The battery charges to 90% in about 90 minutes with the printer off; HP does not publish pages per charge.
- Wi-Fi Direct lets a phone or laptop print with no network around; the HP app handles print and scan.
- The 10-sheet ADF copies and scans multi-page documents up to 216 × 356 mm.
- Cartridges are small: the HP 62XL black (about 600 pages) is the better buy for regular use.
What Will Not Work
- No flatbed: cannot scan books, passports or anything that does not feed through.
- No automatic duplex and no fax.
- No Ethernet port.
- Not for office volumes — HP rates it at up to 500 pages a month.

Frequently Asked Questions
How many pages per battery charge?
HP does not publish a figure. It depends on coverage and wireless use; keep the mains lead in the car or office for long jobs.
Can I charge it in a car?
HP supplies a mains power cord; car use needs a suitable inverter or an HP-approved car adapter. Ask us and we will check what fits.
Does it work with current Windows and macOS?
HP lists Windows, macOS, ChromeOS and Linux support, and phones print through the HP app. Tell us your OS and we will confirm drivers.
Singular Expert Insight · Buyer's Guide
The OfficeJet 250 is the go-to printer for engineers and sales staff who need to print a delivery note, contract or invoice on site. It is not an office printer — pair it with a desk model at base. HP 62/62XL cartridges are in our
original ink range.
✓ Buy it if you need to print, copy and scan away from a desk, on battery.
✕ Skip it if you need a flatbed, fax, auto duplex or more than a few hundred pages a month.
→ Also consider an HP Smart Tank for low-cost colour printing at a fixed desk.
Not sure it fits your setup? Send us the model of your rack, switch or device and we will check compatibility before you order.
